In the early 18th century, The Golden Age of Piracy, the daughter of a Spanish colonizer and a Nahua woman rejects her father's influence and turns to piracy. Taking on the name and visage of the folk saint of death, "Santa Muerte '' pursues a life of infamy with her eclectic crew. Her desire for notoriety comes back to haunt her when she becomes the target of a sadistic agent of the Spanish Inquisition.
