Decent progress
JT202227 October 2023
Moving along quite nicely. The only problem I have is the actor who plays the billionaire Nikhil Kapoor - his acting is extremely wooden, and his mannerisms and vocal pattern are jarring; it's almost as if he's in a school play. He doesn't bring any credibility to the role, and thereby detracts from the performances of all the other actors in every scene he's in. It's a shame, because the story and tempo are building well, but they take a step-back every time the Nikhil character is in a scene.

The kid actors are great, and doing a really good job, especially India Brown who plays Jamila - she is an actor to keep an eye on for the future!

A good show ruined by one character.
nicked210121 October 2023
As the season progresses, the depth of the story continues to impress. Character building has been excellent through the first seven episodes, and the expanded story over season one works really well

Except for one thing - the character of Nikhil Kapoor is close to ruining the entire show.

His ridiculous decision making, awful attempts at manipulating other characters and complete disregard for anything they do or say would preclude any real person from the kind of success he has had. He doesn't listen, ignores obvious progress others are making and instead just bullies and harasses. It's a shame, because he is ruining the entire show.

[6.2] Cosmic - I like it!

On season 2_episode 8: same as season 1, though, my wish was granted and I got to see the bright, daring, tenacious and lovely Mitsuki, the only one out there with a scientific and academic background that I like and respect.

Other than that, a little subpar season in comparison with season 1, with the same nonsense with Aneesha and her family and acquaintance, some lengthy dragging scenes and episodes with the British kids and an ending that is worse than the whole season.

Time to cancel the show. This time and this series, really.

Incoherent list of sci fi tropes, delivered poorly
ademup-5724527 October 2023
  • Lead character is the smartest person in every room on every subject.

  • Aliens are simultaneously invincible + intelligent and weak + stupid.

  • psychic powers\visions

  • there are aliens(!), but most of the time is spent on insipid himan drama side stories

  • the whole thing could hinge on children saving the day

  • those children have all have the emotional intelligence of sophisticated, well raised adults and carry on deep thought conversations.

  • nearly every scene "demands" an undeserved intellectually provacative insight

  • aliens can be taken out by a tiny little thing

  • doctors, therapists, marines, and many other trained professionals all lack intelligence, professionalism, and\or skill.

  • there is an arrogant super rich person who contributes nothing at all to any part of the story line, but is very annoying.

  • the whole world is in danger, but for some unkown reason, a small rag tag group or two of characters is our ticket to salvation

  • so many bullets, so little getting hit

None of the characters have any chemistry with other characters. Shamir Anderson is the only good actor here, but he can't hold the show.

The visual effects are great, but more money spent on writing a better script would have been money much better spent.

It's getting worse

Warning: Spoilers
Another poor effort. The acting from the so-called neurobiologist or is she a psychiatrist or psychologist is awful. That's the problem with these kind of series. Everyone is an expert but the writers haven't a clue what the specialities are. This episode was extremely poor. The neurobiologist/psychiatrist/psychologist sabotages the program but is escorted off the premises. What twaddle. Then the very thing she wants to stop ends up going ahead anyway. Hahahahahahahaha who writes this drivel? The only real character is the billionaire who is trying to get things done like they would in the real world. Not in this fantasy. They should change the genre. This isn't science fiction. It's fantasy. At times it's a vehicle for the special effects which are good but the story has no substance. It's too wrapped up in love stories with strong female characters that make all the wrong decisions. Maybe that's what is intended? I think not. All this program shows is there are no consequences to people's actions. Not a good message. Anyway I live in hope that the neurobiologist/psychiatrist/psychologist, who looks about 18 years old and is my most hated character after the mom in the so-called US portion departs soon. Her character isn't needed. Were the producers looking for a pretty face? I loved the bit where the astronauts lover saves the world but the neurobiologist/psychatrist/psychologist doesn't admit she herself caused the problem in the first place. They should have given more screen time to Madame President whose character like the billionaires is grounded in reality. The rest are a fictional dream in a gen Y mind.
