- On a newly christened passenger lake ship to investigate a threat to it, Murdoch must investigate an apparent death of a woman overboard, only to discover a far more complex mystery on board.
- Detective Murdoch and Inspector Brackenreid are aboard the SS Keewatin after the owner, Clarence MacFarlane, receives what he believes is a threat. The Keewatin is about to depart from Toronto on its maiden voyage destined for Rochester, N.Y. and Murdoch thinks they should stay on board, especially after he sees that Julia is one of the invited guests. Their presence proves useful after MacFarlane's daughter Amy, who is engaged to her father's chief financial officer Owen Mathers, falls overboard and is nowhere to be found. As Murdoch investigates he finds there is a real threat against the Keewatin and the true facts behind Amy's disappearance.—garykmcd
- Murdoch, Julia and Brackenreid are aboard the luxury steamer Keewatin on its maiden voyage from Toronto to Rochester, N.Y. as owner Clarence MacFarlane reported a telegram hinting at a bomb. His daughter Amy was to wed socialite Owen Mathers aboard, but is reported overboard, actually missing, staged with her socially unacceptable lover, Indian crewman Johnny, who pretends not to have called it but actually arranged a maids disguise and hideout. This takes backseat as a telegram warning about two bombs to sink the ship proves true, only after Murdoch disarms one the other goes off an hour early. Higgings doesn't share Crbtaree's enthusiasm about telegrams enabling them to help with research from Toronto. Team Murdoch and the MacFarlane refuse to be evacuated until the twin case is solved at great peril.—KGF Vissers
