It is stated that the events of this episode occurred on May 24, 1900, whereas Annie Taylor did not barrel over the Niagara Falls until October 24, 1901. The first year this could occur would be in 1902.
Although this episode takes place in 1901 - the removal of Queen Victoria's portrait being a clue - the SS Keewatin was not built until 1907.
In the final scenes Amy MacFarlane was rescued from the cargo hold just minutes before the water covered her head, she was almost fully submerged. Then she was rushed to the life boat but her dress was completely dry.

Various forms of artificial respiration were explored during the 19th century, but it was not until the early 1960s that the method of external chest compression was discovered by James Jude and colleagues. Full CPR (artificial respiration combined with chest compression) was first seen in a training video in 1962.
