A late bloomer and from a religious small community, Yossi is desperate to fit in with his unruly bunkmates, Itamar and Kebab. Together, the three soldiers guard a closed security checkpoint on the West Bank. Even while military tensions run high, the bored trio fill their downtime the only way they know how - playing card games, roughhousing, and thinking about girls. The monotony of their job is interrupted by a civilian who is desperate to get through the checkpoint, now closed for several days. The situation worsens, and as Yossi and his friends are faced with the threat of danger, Yossi is forced to make a split-second decision. He shoots. A civilian crumples to the ground. They begin to administer first aid, revealing a young woman not much older than Yossi himself. Yossi's first time taking another person's life is also his first time seeing a woman's chest bared.
