In the bustling town of Salem, Sachin Santosh, a college student with dreams of going abroad, finally gathers the courage to confess his feelings for his classmate Anjali. But his hopes are shattered when she bluntly rejects him. Heartbroken and seeking solace, Sachin returns to his hometown of Aluva. Here, he grapples with the strained relationship between his parents, which has cast a shadow over his home life. Amid this turbulence, he focuses on his future, aiming to pursue higher education in the UK. However, his aspirations face a setback when his visa application is denied due to financial constraints, forcing him to wait another six months before he can reapply. To fill the time, he joins his father's struggling bakery business, a humbling experience that grounds him in the reality of his family's situation.

During this phase, Sachin reconnects with Amal Davis, a childhood friend, who suggests a fresh start: a GATE coaching course in Hyderabad. Eager to leave his troubles behind and needing a change, Sachin agrees and heads to Hyderabad with Amal, a decision that proves life-changing. In Hyderabad, Reenu Roy, a spirited young woman from Mallapally, has just joined the development team at Ospyn, an IT company. Reenu, known for her lively demeanor, moves in with her close friends and colleagues, Karthika and Niharika, creating a lively atmosphere in their shared apartment. While she's passionate about her job and adjusting to her new city life, she is unaware of the secret crush her arrogant colleague Aadhi harbors for her. Aadhi, though posing as her best friend, hides his feelings behind a mask of self-assuredness, convinced that his closeness to Reenu will one day make her reciprocate.

Meanwhile, Sachin and Amal attend the wedding of their former professor Shobi, whose bride Shravani happens to work with Reenu. At the wedding, Sachin is immediately captivated by Reenu. Despite an initial clash with Aadhi, who openly disapproves of Sachin, he manages to form a bond with Reenu and her friend Karthika. As the wedding celebrations come to a close, Reenu and Karthika invite Sachin and Amal to join them on their road trip back to Hyderabad in a Mini Cooper. This trip cements their friendship and opens the door for Sachin to spend more time around Reenu.

Sachin's plans to move to Chennai for work take a sudden turn when he realizes he wants to stay in Hyderabad to be close to Reenu. He persuades Amal to help him secure a job at his aunt's fast-food restaurant. Sachin and Amal rent an apartment near Reenu and Karthika's neighborhood, bringing them all closer. One night, during a party at a local pub, Amal hints at Sachin's feelings for Reenu, prompting Karthika to warn them against pursuing it. She bluntly explains that Reenu seeks someone with a stable career and mature outlook, qualities Sachin currently lacks. With this warning in mind, Sachin decides to keep his feelings to himself, even as he and Reenu grow closer through shared outings, including a memorable train ride and a group excursion around Hyderabad.

Eventually, Sachin can't hold back any longer and confesses his feelings to Reenu. However, she rejects him, casually suggesting that this isn't his first rejection, unintentionally deepening his heartbreak. Disheartened, Sachin decides to leave Hyderabad and moves to Chennai, where he takes up odd jobs to make ends meet, actively ignoring Reenu's messages and calls. Karthika moves to Bangalore to be with her fiancé, Vikas, leaving Reenu to confront her loneliness. As the weeks pass, Reenu finds herself missing Sachin and begins to realize her own feelings for him.

Months later, Sachin and Amal attend Karthika's pre-wedding party, where Reenu is also present. Sachin, still wounded and guarded, pretends to have moved on, telling Reenu that his UK visa has finally been approved and that he's scheduled to fly the next day. Aadhi, who has been quietly observing Sachin and Reenu's interactions, drunkenly challenges Sachin and Amal, leading to a confrontation. Provoked, Sachin and Amal taunt Aadhi, claiming that Reenu would reject him if he ever proposed. Fueled by ego, Aadhi publicly proposes to Reenu, only to face a swift rejection. Humiliated, Aadhi storms off, vowing revenge.

The following morning, Sachin and Amal head to the airport for Sachin's flight, with Reenu joining them on the way. During the drive, Reenu opens up, confessing that she has developed feelings for him and doesn't want him to leave. Their moment of truth is interrupted when Aadhi, along with a gang of hired thugs, chases them, intending to exact his revenge. In the ensuing chaos, Reenu fearlessly defends Sachin using a pepper spray that Aadhi himself had given her as a "gift for protection." They narrowly escape and arrive at the airport just in time. With emotions running high, Reenu and Sachin embrace, committing to a long-distance relationship, knowing that despite the miles that will separate them, their bond has deepened.

In a whimsical flashback, Reenu, Karthika, and Niharika are seen on their apartment rooftop some months earlier. Niharika tosses an empty can off the roof, jokingly prophesying that Reenu will marry whoever it lands on. They hear an old man's shout and run away, not knowing that the can has, in fact, fallen on Sachin, who happens to be passing by with Amal at that exact moment.
