To cover a lot of ground in one hour, good grief this show is busy with subplots emerging all over the place. So you have the supposedly rehabilitated abusive ex (Peter Scandavino) returning in the hopes of getting back with on-probation deputy, Siobhan (Trieste Kelly Dunn), but he's still a monster underneath this façade of humbled man. When he just won't leave her alone, despite a restraining order against him, and she threatens to shoot him if he doesn't get a clue, their reunion will ultimately end up in a major brawl. Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) is to serve 30 days in a woman correctional facility for her participation in the big first season shootout with her pops' goons. This haunts Lucas (Antony Starr) who considers himself responsible. If that wasn't enough, Lucas is requested by kingpin, Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) to find his niece (the yummy Lili Simmons, with a smoldering masturbation at the opening of the episode) who has been kidnapped by Native Americans, Alex Longshadow (Anthony Ruivivar) and sis Nola (Odette Annable, a babe that can kick some ass, this is her best part unless you happen to consider her part in House to be superior, which I don't) for Proctor's supposed theft of 160 K of the Reservation Casino money. Alex is under scrutiny by his tribal council for how he has been running the casino despite its success, continuing prosperity, and renovations. Alex' hotel was blown up by Proctor, so he just assumes his "enemy" also committed the theft (although it was actually Lucas, Carrie, Sugar (Frankie Faison), and Job (Hoon Lee) behind it actually, with Nola trying and failing to stop them). Lucas must upend a number of casino security and then convince Alex to free Rebecca so that the whole ordeal can be put behind them. For committing the kidnapping, Proctor stops off to interrupt Alex' sex with a girlfriend by dumping cow parts and blood into the Jacuzzi
just a warning that is rather effective. Once Carrie is inside, a tough-talking prisoner starts up a fuss and an altercation ensues. Carrie's marriage with Russ (Gordon Blackwell; his provocation of Lucas with a punch and slap is met with a warning as he is pasted to a door in the court hall; lesson is to not push Lucas too far, badge or no badge) is on the skids and her kids are pretty much done with her. Carrie's life is in a downward spiral
can it be salvaged? There's a great scene which tells us what "the inside" has done to Lucas and Starr successfully conveys the anguish it causes to return to a type of prison of any kind. He hyperventilates; it was such a vivid recreation of his own past.
The fights at the end (Carrie and the prisoner; Siobhan and Breece, her ex) are brutal, messy, and full-throttle, excellently staged and potent. Seeing an abuse victim no longer a weakling that can be so easily hurt as Siobhan gets vindication and is the victor over her ex is quite satisfying her use of the bible in particular adds a degree of potency to its finish. Seeing Carrie get the upper hand will be certain to earn her a respect if not hurt her chances of getting out on good behavior. The episode gives you your money's worth, let me tell you: it is loaded with good looking people, violence, and hot pressure events growing out of boiling over stories. Proctor and Alex, Lucas and Siobhan in a kissing embrace that seems to have been stewing for a bit, Carrie losing her grip on her life (family with Gordon paying for a hooker giving him an oral pleasing, and her daughter denying her a proper goodbye, and prison sentence placing her outside of Banshee due to an overcrowded prison population), and Rebecca fending off catcalls (military threaten to rape her when she defies them, with Nola wiping them out easily!) while trying to figure out where she wants to go in her life outside the Amish farm.
Lucas is certain to sleep with every female member of the cast eventually all the ladies seem anxious to get in bed with him! Must be nice! What is amazing is that because the final two fights are so full of high intensity and body blows of severe impact they overshadow Lucas' own "The Raid" stylized fights against the casino security staff!
