- "Ray Donovan" - "Housewarming" - August 4, 2013
Ray goes to visit an FBI agent in the marina. After promptly shoving him into the water and stepping on his hand, he asks who opened an investigation into him. The guy, Frank, IDs Van Miller and says he is good, works alone, and that he doesn't know anything about it. He also says he can't simply "shut down" the investigation like Ray is asking. Ray doesn't care for this answer but helps him out of the water anyway.
Ray heads home and declines to tell Abby where he's been or why he's wet. He gets angry when he hears Bunchy bought a house for him and Mickey. The kids want to go their housewarming party but Ray shuts that down.
The doctor at the hospital explains that they're going to zap Ezra's tumor with radiation. Ezra's nervous about his hair. The doctor's nervous about hitting his optic nerve.
Bunchy and Mickey fix up the house they bought and Bunchy mopes that Mickey is a bad influence. Mickey calls Abby to get help with decorations.
Avi follows Van to a diner and doses his coffee. When Van heads back to the office he starts to seriously trip. The security guard looks like a monkey in a suit to him. He leaves and is pulled over by a cop who informs him he was going three miles an hour. The cop administers a sobriety test which, he of course fails. The cop takes him home and then promptly calls Ray and says Van is home.
Ray is busy dealing with another problem with De'onte Brown the NBA player from the pilot. He gets a call from hotel security that he's back with a new girl and somehow these girls always win the "NBA lottery" 9 months later. And then we see how. The girl pleasures him orally, then turns her back, spits into a specimen container and puts it in the ice bucket and places the bucket outside the door. The limo driver is waiting and takes the bucket and puts the specimen into a container with dry ice. But Ray is waiting for him and pummels him and tells him the jig is up. Ray then goes to De'onte and makes him call his wife.
Van Miller gets home and he is still tripping. Ray and Avi have ransacked his basement and thrown all his carefully stored action figures on the ground. They come to life and fight one another and shoot at Van. Van hides under his desk.
Abby comes over with bags from Target and helps Terry, Bunchy, and Mickey fix up the place. She ays she can't come because it's movie night with the kids.
Ray and Avi confront him Van, who is still tripping. They show him the video of his sobriety test. They cut off a piece of his hair and say it will test positive for LSD for year. Ray firmly tells him there is no case and gives him his card to call them when he comes down.
Abby makes Bunchy's bed and talks to him. She says they want to come but they can't because of Mickey. Bunchy believes that Ray thinks it's Mickey's fault that he got molested. He admits that Terry broke the priest's hand when he tried to touch him and he thinks Ray would've done the same and he wonders why he didn't fight back and why he felt like he should do it. He cries and Abby comforts him saying this is what monsters do.
Connor comes home and bickers with Bridget who is making out with Marvin Gaye.
Ezra escaped from the hospital and Ray catches up with him on a street corner in his hospital gown. He notes that he left his late wife Ruth a whole hospital but has gotten nothing for Deb and he wants to get her a dog. He admits he is scared about the surgery. Ray promises it will be okay and takes him back to the hospital.
Bunchy and Mickey have a drink before the party.
Marvin, Bridget, and Connor go for a ride.
The party is underway. Bunchy is drunk. Terry is surprised when Frances shows up but instead of busting her he says he's happy she's there.
Ezra is being poked and prodded before surgery. Ray wants the nurses to give him something but they point out that he has to be able to talk during the procedure. Ezra winks at him and says he won't tell them anything.
The party is now in full swing. Marvin, Bridget and Connor show up. Mickey "jokingly" calls Marvin "the chauffeur." A loaded Bunchy gets excited and plays around sloppily with Connor. Marvin and Frances get down on the dance floor. Mickey gives Connor a beer and later he also smokes pot. Mickey snorts some coke with some hookers and sends Bunchy upstairs with one named Cinderella to "christen" the house. But as she's pleasuring him orally he sees the priest instead who says "God bless you Brendan." Terry and Bridget chat about their respective dates while watching them dance. Terry concludes that Frances is his girlfriend but tells Bridget to slow down when asks if they're getting married. Bridget says Marvin is her boyfriend she thinks and she believes he's the smartest person she knows. She knows her mother doesn't like him but Terry points out that Ray was pretty rough around the edges when Abby met him. Bunchy continues to drink. He sprays lighter fluid on a Red Sox banner on his wall and lights it on fire. The house fills with smoke and Mickey asks Bunchy what he did and runs upstairs. Bunchy orders everyone out. Terry calls Ray to tell him that the fire is out but that Bridget and Connor are there.
Ray arrives and everyone is on the front lawn or stoop. He orders a drunk Connor into the car. Mickey sort of yells at Ray's back "I'm sorry I didn't go to more of your football games." Ray asks where Bridget is. Connor doesn't know. Ray freaks out and pulls his gun and heads back and points it at Mickey's head. Frances who is tending to Bunchy freaks. Bridget and Connor freak. Mickey says Ray might have had the balls to put Mickey away but doesn't think he can kill him. Instead he savagely whacks Mickey across the face with the gun and he falls to the ground. Connor jumps out of the car and runs to his grandfather. Bridget jumps out of Marvin's car and does the same. Marvin takes off. Ray again points the gun at Mickey's head. A terrified Bridget cries for him to stop. Ray stops and tries to get the kids in the car but they are scared of him. A siren wails in the distance. Terry tells him to calm down and leave and that he will bring the kids home.
Ray goes back to Ezra in the hospital. Van calls him and tells him to go f--k himself. Ezra.awakes, happy to be alive. Ray explains about Mickey and Ezra concludes they will just have to kill him since he's working with the FBI. Ray says it's not that simple since Mickey is still his father. So, Ezra asks, who hates Mickey more than they do?
We cut to a couple laughing in bed at a wipeout-style show on TV. This man is Sully and apparently he hates Mickey the most.
