Rich and the City

Warning: Spoilers
Them against Us? Huh? The hailing of the cab aftermath. Seriously?

Now onto Miranda - where is she? The Miranda I'm watching isn't the fiery, ambitious independant Miranda from SATC. Now she's a clingy, boring little woman. Don't get me started on the Che person. What dramatic event happened in her life to make her feel so miserable - cancer? Amputation? Serious accident? ("after everything I've been through") Nope. Just gained weight. Jeez.

Charlotte - she's turned into a spoilt, wealthy angry woman who aggressively confronts a young shop assistant. I hope she apologized.

I don't understand why we have to have all these extra "friends" on the show. Us, the viewers, would really just like more of our friends, who we know, spending time together.

Oh, by the way, why does every second person have to be gay or bi or whatever?

Ahhh, so many questions.

Charlotte, no. Warning: Spoilers
Ok so I've been on the fence about watching s2 of And Just Like That due to the inorganic way they tried to acclimate to the 2020's (post-Sex and the City flack about the lack of diversity and openness). But I adored the relationships the ladies have with one another, even with Carrie's narcissism.

In episode 2 of season 2, overprocessed Charlotte and her doting husband Harry refuse their daughter an electric keyboard and tell her if she wants one she needs to be resourceful and find another way to get one, probably hoping she will give up. Instead she sells her clothing (that probably doesn't fit nor is it in fashion since it's been more than 5 minutes that she's worn them) to pay for the keyboard. Rather than applauding her for being resourceful, Charlotte goes on a rampage in her own way, demanding that "RealDeal" are crooks and took advantage of Lilly.

The final ick factor for me was when Charlotte turned into Karen at the store. Carrie luckily calmed her down and helped convince Charlotte that this is her issue and not Lilly's.

If it weren't for the fashion, shoes and hair I would have given up on it a long time ago. It doesn't seem like any of the characters are going to evolve so ...just like that... I'm almost over this.

Hanging on until Aiden episodes

Warning: Spoilers
Loved the original series, the reboot, however is a different show. I really like Carrie's podcast and the whole podcast crew. Her Thursday night relationship with Franklin seems real and sweet but definitely not long term.

I like Che but can't stand her with Miranda.. just not believable. Sorry. I think Carrie looks really beautiful. Love Seema but she is not a Samantha substitute. I really like all the other characters though but would like to see Charlotte/ Harry have a real problem for a change. Would like to see Anthony's character expanded, he is very wise. The fashion and scenery are amazing as always. I'm hanging in there but only because Aiden is coming back.

try to be SATC a little, but still fails at it.
MidoriAi7 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Carrie reads ads for her podcast and she finds ridiculous that they wrote "down there" instead of v a gi na or v ul va.. but not the part "listeners with a v agi na" ok... the only people with v a g in a would be ONLY women. Really??? Are we still there where horrible people are try to instigate referencing women as: person with a uterus? There are only men and women and we all know how they are. That's biology.

More lesbiansex. More add on ethnic diversity characters who nobody cares having their little rich lives. Fast forward. NEEEXT!!

Michael Patrick whatever, the one writing this show, the one that looks like an elf, needs to retire. Not every person who watched SATC is gaylike him. Why is he portraying rich women almost in their 60? Are women in their 50/60 feeling this show relatable?? Interesting? Amusing seei ngg ayse x?? There were some in SATC but it wasn't so insufferable and disgusting like in here.

"BD" character: a horrible woman, half clown, half men in his 60s dressed like in a bad theater play with hysterical voice of a woman. Horrible to see and watch.

Is anybody liking Che??

Is anybody liking Charlotte's daughters (yes, daughters) One think she's a "..." don't know, looks like a little boy, the other is feminine but hyper hysterical and obsessive. The charlotte and her husband indulge in those ridiculous and annoying behaviors. It is not fun to watch. Not good parenting. It is like "see? Even rich people can be stup1dand bad parents" Yeah we know, why showing it?

Miranda going to a rich AA meeting, even tho she was an "alcoholic" for 3 episodes. That's ridiculous and a spit to the face of real alcoholic people.

Tony Danza needs to cut his hair, and he's not a tv legend by the way. Bad tv legend, maybe. And why is he not up to the part to be a "mexican"? Are all mexicans of indigenous descent?? I bet there are MANY people who are from all over the globe who were born in America, from Canada to Argentina, that have not indigenous descent, like me!! So in this tv show it is ok to portray a minor as "genderfluid" but not Tony Danza as mexican? So, try another drama to complicate Che's tv show because the drama they invented was ridiculous.

If you are thinking: "this review only states the negatives" well, no, I'm writing now the positives: *Carrie drooling over shoes *Charlotte being super patient to get what she wants *Charlotte's daughter singing and playing the piano saying her mother is doing bad parenting.

*The bit with the surfers and Miranda's desperation over losing her phone. It was classic SATC.

A bit better from ep. 1 but not so much... when AJLT is going to be SATC again?

Nostalgic but new
benjinightingale30 July 2023
There is a certain scene in this episode that was just totally perfect . The scene where Miranda looses her phone , the surfer dude guys help her . The way it was shot , the soundtrack the writing , the acting was so on point . It truly was the best scene from all of season one up until now . It felt exactly how I felt when I watched satc as a kid . But new and kinda forward . I can't. Explain it but it was just perfect . I wish I could explain it but I'm sure whoever may see this who writes or contributes to the show will understand . The way it kinda felt real with the surfer dudes reactions to Miranda and her reaction to them was just perfect . I liked seasons one . I love season 2 and I'm in it again now and invested . If season 3 happens and I hope it does . I a gay millennial in my mid 30s needs this . Anyway if we could get that feeling sometimes again with the lost phone scene I feel like it would make it so perfect . Also my girls look sooooo good this season .
