Saint Seiya as a Saturday Morning Cartoon Warning: Spoilers
I had no idea this existed, but turns out there were plans for adapting the Saint Seiya manga/anime by Masami Kurumada into an American cartoon, which was going to be done by Fred Wolf Films, the same company behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show from the 80s.

Just in the same way the 80s cartoon version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sanitized the content of the original comic, this pilot tones down a lot of the darker aspects from the original Saint Seiya, particularly its intense violence and plot filled with tragedies, turning it into a pretty light-hearted show, pretty cheesy but fun, just like many other Saturday Morning Cartoons from the same era.

Truth to be told, if the series had been greenlit, I probably would have watched it religiously as a kid, when I was into shows like Street Sharks.

This pilot was made in 1993, not in the 2023 (Though it was the year 2023 when its existence was finally revealed to the public by the Youtube user Ray Mona, who also found the "Saban Moon" pilot)

I honestly like this better than the awful DIC dub filled with censorship, which killed any potential interest in the franchise in English speaking countries.

At least this had an awesome and pretty catchy theme tune, a common staple of many shows from the same era.
