Not my cup of tea
goldenlion8612 June 2023
For me, this show falters on two fronts, as of episode 3.

First, its cast is 18-22, meaning that maturity level is a big factor. I'm 36, and perhaps a younger viewer would feel differently, but to me, a lot of the participants lack a well-developed personality. In the case of a few of the guys, it's almost like watching children go about their day. If these people were maybe 5 years older, I think you'd have a much different dynamic.

The second is that the pace is too quick. There's an elimination each episode, so there's not a lot of time to get to know these people, or for them to get to know each other. For me, a large part of the appeal of reality dating shows is to see friendships and relationships blossom. Love Island does this very well. Here, it feels rushed.

All in all, I don't know if this was a swing and a miss, or a cynical cash grab, but I think the execution of an otherwise interesting concept isn't very good. One of the two dating coaches is 29, so still very young, and seeing him interact with one of the contestants in episode 2 comes off like he's parenting a child. If the contestants were older and more mature, and the show had a slower pace, I think this show could be great. As it is, I couldn't get into it.

Lack of compelling personalities
kevinthomasloney20 June 2023
I came to watch the show because of Anthony.

I did not like how the cast is all so surface level and not charming at all. They just talk about "oh i do this for work" when who cares and talk about what you do in your free time. They focus too much on expressing status like saying that they make music rather than going into why they think it is fun or even if they do. It is all just people showing their status and appraising it. Either that or talking about nothing.

I did not like the main girl. Her personality was seemingly non-existent. It was as if she was asking for performance from the other people. She kept asking super vague open ended questions like she was in some exploitative job interview. Just be normal. Instead of asking "what is your passion" ask what they do in their free time when they are not working or in school. Ask what they actually do rather than some status signifier that is ingenuine.

I gave up on the show when the main girl chose performance rather than genuine connection. She chose the other coach at the end of episode 1 who is all about performance. She should not be on the show if her whole scheme is giving terrible dating advise an making it so more and more of the characters are terribly un-charming and inauthentic.

Also the main girl had no drip.

Could've been so much better

Warning: Spoilers
I have a few issues with this show.

1) the cast is soooo young. I think everyone who watches these shows is holding out hope to see a love story unfold. These are kids, literal fetuses fresh out of high school. In reality, they are not going to find the love of their lives and settle down, they can't even drink yet lol can we have a slightly older cast plz 2) lexi lives separately from the cast. It seems like they spend absolutely NO time with each other besides the challenges. Everything is very rushed and short? Idk maybe would've been better if she lived in the house with them- like in a suite?

3) this is supposed to be an LGBTQ+ show (hence love 'ALL'ways) about a pan bachelorette but the contestants are all straight cis men, and women. There are no trans ppl, no NB's, it would've been nice see people from all over the spectrum. There was one single bi man but he was unmatched very early on

anyways that's all i got it was cute i guess but could've been so much better.

This Show is so Disorganized

All the guys had the same hairstyle/cut Right off the bat you're like "Oh god this is a highschool play" where everyone looks the same to fit in. 3 episodes in I thought it was a play. Some of the guys acted and talked as if they were on a script. The women are beautiful as usual but I'm in episode 8 and they all bore me.

Lexi is gorgeous but she looks lost alot of times.

She has people compete for a date or 1on1 with her yet throughout the show you see her randomly in the house with contestants and in the "confessional" How did she get there? Why is she there with a contestant? It's terribly put together. Almost like they put a group of teens together in a house with 2 shaparones and let them do whatever and hope the cameras and editors can pick up some good stuff. They don't.

Cringe major

They're just too young. Hearing a TEENAGER who legit just graduated high school say "I've had my fun, now I'm ready to settle down" is so weird and gross. They mostly look 12 and can't even drink yet, why are they trying to get these kids to find their soulmate lol And having grown people "coach" these kids is also creepy. The premise alone is alright I guess but I think the contestants should at least be a decade older.

It's also worth mentioning that it's nice to have a bachelorette who says she doesn't care about gender but yet, it's only femme cis girls and masc cis (all straight but one) boys, not all that "groundbreaking".

interesting cast

I probably watched the show for the wrong reasons. But there was interesting dynamics between to exes. And they are trying to manage their feelings while competing for another person. Their story was more interesting than the whole point of the show. Most of the story was not shown because they're trying to make the show about the person who was trying to find the date which makes sense, so it led to the misrepresentation of some participants. It's reality TV show I guess that's the risk you got to take. Overall good show to kill the time definitely has drama and it's interesting new version of this type of shows.
