A 'cease and desist' are not legal proceedings. They are also a civil matter, not a criminal one. In the film, Dave is having to appeal it in a criminal trial, when it is actually for those who are enacting the 'cease and desist' to take action to enforce it in a civil trial.

And, when entering the court, it was marked as a 'Magistrate's Court' but the presiding judge was dressed as a crown or high court judge and was not a magistrate, of which, there would normally be three.

Finally, judges in the UK do not use (or even have) gavels.

In the court case (the basis of which is never established) the judge makes extensive use of a gavel; UK judges do not use gavels.

This was meant to be set in 2014 when the real Dave Fishwick challenged the Payday Loan Companies. One of the vans he arrived in court had a "24'' registration on its number/license plate. 24 indicates the year the vehicle was issues, 2024 10 years after Dave's crusade on the Payday Loan companies.

Within the first few minutes during the radio interview, Dave wrongfully states that the percentage applied to the number just stated was 6000% instead of the ball park figure of 600%. A mistake a bank owner would not and most certainly, should not make.

The opening quote mark on the Bank of Dave sign outside the bank is back to front. Inside the bank, it is the correct way round.

Dave's kitchen has a large amount of Le Creuset items in it of various colours, however on the centre island there's items from the the 'Garnet' range - which wasn't released at the time the programme is set.
