NOT an Angel Studios Production - but good
jjminikit-6674415 March 2024
Found this movie on instagram and saw that they had Yoshi and Catherine from the Chosen. It wasn't until the opening credits did I realize that this IS NOT an Angel studios production. I was a little taken back but was super surprised that there are other independent production companies making good faith based films. The musical portions felt very grounded and I like how it was more serious than Jesus Christ Superstar. My family and I enjoyed it and I especially liked how they jumped back and forth from a real christian family to the Easter story. My kids latched onto the characters and it made it easy to answer all their questions after the movie. It would make a great tool to introduce the Easter story! Happy I got to see this film and I'm excited to see more from this company!

Nice Family Movie
omaofc15 March 2024
I really enjoyed this film. I was a bit surprised about the musical part with the Jesus part of the film. For the most part I did like that, except the part on the cross. The story with the family I loved! Yoshi, who I loved as Phillip in The Chosen, was very good as Joseph as he struggled between between spending time with his family and working during family time, and Catherine ( who I really like as Mary sister if Lazarus in The Chosen) did good playing his wife trying to be patient, yet frustrated he is spending too much time with work then spending the time with his family, especially his dying father. The rest of the cast were good as well. I loved the kids. Overall, It was a nice family movie as the children learned about The Last 47 Days of Jesus, Joseph that sometimes the hardest choices are the best choices.

Definitely worth the watch

Warning: Spoilers
I was extremely captivated by the movie and how well it connected these two stories together. The performance of the actors made me feel very connected to the plot and their characters. There was a good balance between a family-friendly tone and a serious tone considering how emotional some of the content was. I found that the father, played by Yoshi Barrigas, was very easy to connect with as many of us have experienced something similar to what he did. I definitely recommend seeing this movie as it portrays the story of Jesus in a way that is applicable in current times through a family who is experiencing what many of us do.

Loved it!
judybe-0014413 March 2024
If you love family stories that warm your heart and you love musicals and you love Chrisitan stories, this one is for you. Some people are saying they did not like the musical parts but I think you have to go into it knowing that this is definitely a unique productions. I do wish some would stop comparing it to the Chosen. It has nothing to do with the Chosen other than there are 2 Chosen actors in it.

FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS is a heartwarming Easter tale centered on the Burdon family, led by Joseph and Juliana (Yoshi Barrigas and Catherine Lidstone from THE CHOSEN).

When the Burdons attend a reunion at Poppa and Nonna's ranch, they realize just how disconnected their family has become. Facing marital hiccups, teenaged angst and Poppa's health hurdles, the adults decide to share Poppa's enchanting 'Forty-Seven Days' story with the kids, transporting us back in time to see the miracles of Jesus' final 47 days on Earth.

This is a long way from "The Chosen"...
matt-davis-612-24376012 March 2024
I really wanted to like this film. I'm a HUGE fan of "The Chosen" and have enjoyed recent "Christian-themed" movies like "Jesus Revolution", "The Shift and "His Only Son". I also like Yoshi Barrigas, who played the disciple Phillip for 2 seasons of "The Chosen". Alas, I wish he'd just stayed with "The Chosen". The plot of this film was more formulaic than even the corniest Hallmark Christmas movies, the dialog was wooden, and I'm sorry, but the musical numbers were really insufferable (and I love and have seen the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" more times than I can count). Barrigas did the best he could with a fairly annoying character, but yikes. It's been a long time since I have been THIS disappointed in a film.

A wonderful family movie
hopgob13 March 2024
This movie was so much fun! The singing and dancing, the costumes, the sets, and of course the acting were all so entertaining. I think this film is a great way to introduce the Gospel to people. It delivers truth and encourages viewers to seek Jesus in their lives. The portrayal of Jesus and his miracles was heartwarming. The Burdon family was lovable, relatable, and real (and hilarious!) Finding a work/life balance is such a difficult thing, and this movie portrayed that issue in a realistic yet hopeful way. Finding parallels between the Gospel and modern day issues showed that the story of Jesus is just as important today as it was 2,000 years ago. This was a wonderful movie!

Not what I expected
markluvsjacquie12 March 2024
Why keep it quiet that this is essentially a musical? The singing completely took away from this movie and the seriousness of the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Very disappointed in this one. It seems that movie companies are riding the popularity of Christian based movies and throwing low quality productions out there. If they had been open about it being a musical based, I would likely not gone to see it. The people I went with were also disappointed. It's really too bad that Yoshi Barrigas left his role as Philip in the Chosen series. He was perfect in it. I hope he's more discerning in choosing future roles.

Delivers a message for everyone
ciara-1170513 March 2024
Forty seven days with Jesus delivers a message to everyone, religious or not. It is a family friendly, feel good movie, that shares a story I think everyone can relate to in some way. A story of marital and family hardships followed by forgiveness and met with love the whole way through. Its soft approach makes it suitable for all ages. I am not a musical type of person but once I put that to the side and really just focused on the message , I started to appreciate it more. Although the message is suitable for all ages, it doesn't mean the message from the Bible is sugar coated. I believe it was portrayed genuinely and I appreciated the parts where it showed perfection ceases to exist in modern day and in the biblical times.

Kind of disappointed
itsadramathing16 March 2024
Was expecting more from this story honestly, based on the name of it. The plot of this movie I liked. But I feel the story of Easter was downplayed and ruined by making it a musical. I didn't feel any emotional attachment to the characters or Jesus to be honest. The Easter story parts felt hokey and like what was happening wasn't important. The main storyline was realistic and probably goes on a lot in families. I thought they could have done better. Want to see The Ark and the Darkness next week. Hoping it is much better. It will probably decide if I see anymore shows from this company. Time will tell.

Charming and positive
ahfriebely12 March 2024
The movie was charming and positive with a heartfelt message that really resonated and embodied the love, forgiveness, and benevolence of Jesus without being preachy. The juxtaposition of a family in crisis coupled with the story of Easter plus high quality production and music(al) elements made me feel my full range of emotions and I wasn't expecting to like this movie as much as I did. I laughed; I teared up; I left with my heart more full. I saw myself in this movie and was reminded of the parts of Christianity (Jesus and his unconditional love) that I love and don't see everyday. This movie wasn't about virtue signaling and deeply impacted me.

The actors all did a great job. The costumes were wonderful. The songs and music kept things light and the scenery and filmography were artfully done. 10/10 highly recommend this movie to all.

A lot of families could benefit from watching.
sebascin14 March 2024
A beautiful story a lot of families could benefit from watching. A reminder to us all about what's important in life amidst all our busy lives and societies pressures. Recommend this all families especially couples you know could benefit from watching this film and take away thing or two about priorities. Loved the cinematography some really gorgeous shots and of course the music throughout was a nice touch to the already compelling story :)

Very impressed with the way they tied in musicality to the film along with all the costumes worn. A fun way to tell the story of the last 47 days of jesus life.
