Warning: Spoilers
"Writer's Block" is a 2-year-old movie written and directed by Brandon Polanco. This was done during the final days of "Breaking Bad" and Bryan Cranston was a huge star at this point. well, still is. But back then, he was even more. I wonder how he got involved with this project here, maybe he knew Polanco? Anyway, I am surprised this short film is not more famous given its huge star playing the main character. Maybe the reason is that it is simply not a good film. It's all style over substance. A writer is blocked and we see some scenes that were intended as atmospheric and artistic, especially with the black-and-white, but none of it really works. Neither does the depiction of the fine line between violence and sex or the ending. A mix-up between dream and reality has been done so many times already and most of the times a lot better. And the scene where he lies on the ground just like in the final scene of "Breaking Bad" seems like a cheap copy of the ending to one of the greatest shows in television history. Cranston certainly elevates the material here, no doubt about it, but nobody could have been as good here, so that I would say this film was a success. Far from it actually. Not recommended.

will it is a very simple..a writer who has a writer's block he just has an idea of a women who is wearing a black dress..and then he enters a f antsy about this girl..it has no meaning and i think anyone could expect what next..it's white and black to seem like a deep movie or because this movie in color will be silly you know, like the emotional moments in some movies but without a emotional music. simply the writer had a writer's block but he wrote anyway and the director (who is also the writer) had a hard job to turn this meaningless script to a real movie and he done good work,if you (like me) watched this for Bryan Cranston you will be pleased as he finally not a father. finally i would like to say that although i enjoyed it i know it is,t a very good one.
