Based on a novel series by Buncololi, the anime adaptation of the Sasaki and Peeps series premiered on January 5, 2024, and ended on March 22, 2024, after 12 episodes. The series is an isekai comedy that ran for one cour, and while it was not a major hit, the ongoing-nove-based series attracted a solid number of fans and became one of the silent hits of the Winter 2024 season. For that reason, we are happy to announce that fans of Sasaki and Peeps will be happy as the series has officially been renewed for a second season, although a release window has not been provided at this moment.
For all those who are unfamiliar with the story of Sasaki and Peeps, but are intrigued to watch it ahead of the second season, here is how the plot has been summarized officially:

Again, February 22 is "Cat Day" in Japan. On this memorable day, the ongoing winter 2024 TV anime Sasaki and Peeps released a collaboration visual with the cat-centric anime Nights with a Cat . The reason for this collaboration is that both anime have characters with the same name — Sasaki and Peeps has Pi-chan (Peeps in English), a renowned sage who was reincarnated from another world as a paper bird, while Nights with a Cat has Pi-chan, the protagonist Fuuta's younger sister who lives with him. In the collaboration visual, Pi-chan ( Sasaki and Peeps ) is sitting on Pi-chan's ( Nights with a Cat ) head in a good mood. Meanwhile, Sasaki ( Sasaki and Peeps ) is patting Kyuruga's ( Nights with a Cat ) head. The original Sasaki and Peeps light novels are written by Buncololi, illustrated by Kantoku, and published in Japan by Media Factory under their Mf Bunko J imprint. An English language version is also available from Yen Press.
