The voice of Beeja is played by Savyna's father. As her family have always had a connection with the trees in that botanical garden, believing that that particular tree keep her family's memories alive, her dad's voice felt like a natural choice. If you listen carefully, the accent is creole.
Beeja is a Hindi word for seed. The camphor tree named Beeja started out as 'Pié camp', which is the local creole nae for the genus. Savyna grew up in Mauritius and spent many a weekends playing under the camphor tree. In 2022, whilst researching for her dissertation, she captured a photogrammetry scan of the tree. That scan came out purple and she decided that that's how the tree wanted to be seen.
