Prehistoric Brad
This Vivid Video feature by Brad Amstrong (co-directing with his collaborator Greg Steel) was made prior to his successful signing with Wicked Pictures, and is a low-budget, barely competent crime movie. I just added it to IMDb, a full 27 years after it was originally released on VHS.
With crummy sets and a serious absence of any action footage, it doesn't resemble Brad's mature work, and in a blindfold test wouldn't be associated with him other than his appearance on screen in a minor acting role as a gangster's henchman.
It's a vehicle for Vivid contract star, blonde Nikki Tyler, not one of the label's memorable talents. She's fresh out of stir, a convicted cat burglar who tells her boyfriend (Randy West) she's turning over a new leaf, to stay on the straight and narrow in order to avoid being sent back to prison.
However, Randy convinces her to help him out of debt, $20,000 owed to gangster Steven St. Croix, by doing one last job for Steven, robbing a diamond. After reunion sex with Randy, she reluctantly agrees and rounds up her partners in crime, Missy and Jill Kelly; they succeed in stealing the rock, but Steven angrily declares it a fake, ordering Tyler to attend a party where big shot Myers (played by a familiar looking bearded character actor, who goes uncredited) will be unveiling the real Star of Joanna uncut diamond. Second theft is undertaken, with an ironic (and barely believable) ending.
Safe-sex XXX scenes are okay, and it's nice to see Jill Kelly with her natural (pre-boob surgery) body. Missy's husband Mickey G shows up in a bit role at the party scene, and an extraneous sex scene featuring St. Croix and his girlfriend Monique DeMoan is tacked onto the story.
