Beautiful message of Sacrify and devotion.
akash_joseph-115 August 2023
Some Bigots like @mooshindia who donot know the truth and life of a Nun, Sister like Rani Maria, who dedicate their life for people - they do not convert people but tell about nature of sharing and giving to others the docterine of Jesus to others, they never force people to convert. And not only in India but in world Nuns are working for humanity. Catholic Nuns dedicate their life for people and community in the field of education and Medical (hospital nurses). Like Brahmkumari or pujaniya Sadvis they too connect to their religion but never force or ask to follow Christ.

Brother Mooshindia - May God give you some peace and take away your hatered. Shalom.

A true portrayal of the exploitation of the tribals and their miserable life
manujoseph-7592722 December 2023
A true portrayal of the exploitation of the tribals and their miserable life. The film portrays in a very realistic manner how the landlords and the wealthy exploit the poor and the downtrodden and the absolute miserable life of the exploited people. The movie will surely help those who are seeing it to realise how fortunate we are and what an abundance of pleasures and comforts we enjoy compared to the pathetic life of the poor people. Sr Rani Maria and her inner struggled are enacted beautifully, the struggle between her commitment to obey her superiors and her true calling to serve the downtrodden and help them to come up on their life.

A Heartwarming Tribute to Sacrifice and Devotion: Sister Rani Maria's Unseen Path
jithinanchanattu15 August 2023
In a world often dominated by noise and chaos, "Sister Rani Maria: A Journey of Unwavering Devotion" shines a light on the untold stories of individuals who have chosen a path of selfless sacrifice and unwavering devotion. This film beautifully captures the essence of the film, celebrating its portrayal of the lives of nuns like Sister Rani Maria who dedicate their lives to serving humanity without any agenda of conversion.

The film delves into the often-misunderstood life of Catholic nuns, highlighting their commitment to the betterment of society through education and medical care. While their faith is unshakable, the film emphasizes that these devoted individuals do not impose their beliefs on others. Much like the spiritual figures mentioned in the film, such as the Brahmkumaris and pujaniya Sadvis, they remain connected to their own beliefs while respecting the diversity of faiths around them.

The call for compassion and understanding, resonates deeply. The film seems to prompt a reflection on the importance of embracing differences and finding common ground through shared values. It is a gentle reminder that kindness and empathy can bridge even the widest divides.

In conclusion, "Sister Rani Maria: A Journey of Unwavering Devotion" is a poignant tribute to those who dedicate their lives to the service of humanity. Its portrayal of sacrifice, devotion, and the power of compassion is beautifully captured in the reviewer's words. This film not only sheds light on the life of Sister Rani Maria and her fellow nuns but also encourages us to reflect on our own paths and the impact we can make in the lives of others. A heartwarming watch that leaves you with a renewed sense of hope and a desire to embrace the values of sharing, giving, and understanding.

Must watch!

Very emotional and inspiring story. Direction was top notch. Definitely proud!

Some of the cruel facts mentioned in movie of farmer suicide. Can't stop my tears seeing their agony. Each and every scene was well defined and expressed.

Most important thing was that women need to be respected. The way strength and determination of a woman depicted was commendable. It shed light on the harsh realities faced by farmers, exploring the socio-economic pressures leading to their desperate decisions, including suicide. These movie aims to raise awareness and provoke discussions about these sensitive and critical issues prevalent in society.

Beautiful story, good cinematography and excellent directing.

Warning: Spoilers
The film Face of the Faceless is heart wrenching and touching at the same time. It arouses feelings of hope, anger , compassion, sadness and even a couple of laughs. Even with sub titles this is effectively communicated and the viewer is completely drawn in.

This movie is about helping one another even in the face of fear and violence and it is depicted thru the life and story of Sr. Rani Maria. It is a powerful story of unconditional love and forgiveness and the power of strength in numbers. It also shows the importance education plays in having a better life.

The lead role is beautifully acted by Vincy Aloshious and co-star Sonalli Sharmisstha as Kerly is a gem. She plays the Sister's protector, antagonist and humorist very well.

All the actors were good and at one point I didn't even think that the village people were acting - especially the village ladies when they leave the scene as they scoop up their children, put them on their hip and walk away.

At one point I felt I couldn't take any more of the landlords evil deeds over and over. Living in the west, I am not used to that level of violence and insignificance of life just because you were born into a certain group. However, as I write this, the treatment of the Black slaves here in the US does come to mind.

The last scene is thought provoking and uncomfortable but it reassures the audience that humanity means love and we are all one.

You all should be very proud of this feature length film. It is well directed with beautiful scenes and cinematography. The many international awards it has won so far is proof of how amazing it is.

I feel certain that it will be nominated for the Academy Awards best foreign film and that it will win.

Congratulations and thank you.

In 1995, she was tragically murdered while traveling on a bus. Despite the violence inflicted upon her, her story is marked by forgiveness.

Warning: Spoilers
The movie is all about the life of Blessed Rani Maria of Pulluvazhi. She got transferred to a village in Indore Madhya Pradesh and the story begins. The tribals are living there and the landlords in that area were exploiting them in terms of wages and work. Sister Rani raised her voice against this in front of Landlord, and Panchyath. But she didn't get justice. Sister tried her own way to educate them, motivate them and make them stand for themselves. Landlords were against the Sr. Rani and he hired a criminal to kill her. Once she was on her way to home, that killer stabbed her in the bus. He got arrested and later the family of Sr. Rani forgive him. There ends the story.

The camera work is nice and fruitful to the eyes. The Role of Ranjan Abraham as a production designer, Mr Alphonse as a Music composer cum background scorer was truly amazing. The dean of the St. Xavier's College Mumbai Mr. Shaison did a good job with this Bollywood debut. Vincy as Sr. Rani were nice.

Overall it was a nice movie..

A Cinematic Tribute to Blessed Rani Maria
dailymassinenglish20 December 2023
I had the privilege of viewing the film 'The Face of the Faceless' at the Vatican Campus. As a film critic and media educationist, I initially harbored skepticism regarding the choice of the story as suitable content for a commercial film. However, from the moment I commenced watching the film, it became evident that it was crafted with precision, adhering to all the conventions of a feature film. Remarkably, it avoided the trappings of a typical drama, and what struck me most was its ability to transcend the perception of time.

Despite its deeply religious undertones, the narrative maintained a distinctly secular tone, skillfully addressing the theme of 'empowerment of tribal women' without dilution. While this Indian saint is a familiar figure to many, few truly grasp the authentic narrative of Saint Rani Maria. The film undoubtedly serves as a tribute to missionaries and all those champions striving to emancipate minorities from the clutches of the majority.

The cast and crew executed a phenomenal job, and films of this nature should grace the screens regularly, injecting positivity and reinforcing our societal duties. Kudos to the producer and director, both well-versed in both content and form; their invaluable contribution to the cinematic world is undeniable.

Sister Rani Maria, born Mariam Vattalil in 1954 in Kerala, India, was a Catholic nun belonging to the Syro-Malabar Church. Her life is a poignant testament to selflessness, dedication, and the ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of others. Sister Rani Maria's story is one of unwavering faith, compassion, and sacrifice.

Sister Rani Maria dedicated her life to serving the poor and marginalized in society. She joined the Franciscan Clarist Congregation, a religious order committed to a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Her journey took her to the rural areas of Madhya Pradesh, one of the least developed states in India, where poverty and social injustice were rampant. In these challenging conditions, Sister Rani Maria found her calling.

One of Sister Rani Maria's primary focuses was to empower women in the community. She initiated various programs aimed at skill development, education, and healthcare for women. Through her efforts, she sought to break the cycle of poverty and uplift the status of women in the region. Her work was not limited to the spiritual realm but extended to addressing the practical needs of the people she served.

However, her altruistic endeavors were met with resistance, especially from those who opposed her efforts to challenge the existing power structures. Sister Rani Maria became a target for those who felt threatened by her dedication to social justice. Despite facing hostility, she continued to work tirelessly, driven by her deep-rooted faith and commitment to her mission.

The ultimate sacrifice made by Sister Rani Maria came on February 25, 1995. On that fateful day, as she traveled by bus to Indore, she was brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times by a man hired by those who opposed her work. The attack was a heinous attempt to silence her voice and disrupt the positive change she was bringing to the lives of the impoverished.

Sister Rani Maria's response to the attack was remarkable. Despite suffering severe injuries, she forgave her assailant and expressed a deep sense of compassion for those who had orchestrated the violence against her. Her resilience and unwavering commitment to forgiveness and love in the face of adversity were a testament to the strength of her character and the depth of her faith.

Sister Rani Maria's sacrifice did not go unnoticed. Her life story inspired many to continue the work she had started. The cause for her beatification and canonization began, recognizing her exemplary life and the impact she had on the lives of those she served.

In conclusion, the sacrifices of Sister Rani Maria serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact one individual can have on a community. Her life was a living example of the teachings of love, compassion, and selflessness. Sister Rani Maria's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her story continues to inspire others to dedicate their lives to the service of humanity, no matter the challenges they may face.
