When Clara tells Walter that she'll go see a psychiatrist, she rushes over and embraces him with her hand on his lower torso. When the shot changes, her hand has moved high up on his chest.
In Walter Stackhouse's office there is a drop ceiling with 2' X 4' drop in panels. There are 2' X 4' ceiling light fluorescent parabolic troffers. These type troffers did not exist until the late 1980s.
Detective Corby ushers Marty Kimmil into the backroom of the bookstore and punches Kimmel in the stomach. Kimmel drops to the floor then stands up. Corby carefully removes Kimmel's eye glasses. and sets them on the floor. He finally smashes the eyeglasses then leaves the bookstore. Whe Kimmel pays a visit to Walter Stackhouse's office he is sporting a black eye. At no point did Kimmel get punched in the face when Det. Corby hit him.
Saratoga is in a very flat place. The highest bridges there are the over passes over Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway. That road wasn't built there until the late 1960s, past the time the movie's set in.
While it is revealed late in the movie that the bookshop is 'in Newark' (NJ), all license plates including those on the local police cars are New York tags.
The main character drives over the Brooklyn Bridge to get to Greenwich Village. Late in the movie it's revealed that the action takes place in New Jersey. The Brooklyn Bridge, of course, connects Manhattan to Brooklyn, not New Jersey.
