Mimi wants love, but the society hates her. She does her best to cope, but every move she makes get intercepted and soaked into hate and rancor. The only thing keeping her hopes alive is the promise of a better future from her mother Rose who has suddenly resolved to avoid identifying with her, both in public and in private.
Mimi remains optimistic that things would change for the better, until she overhears her mother referring to her as a niece. The very last straw that brakes the camel's back. Broken and crushed, Mimi reclines to her fate as a society reject.
Rose finds love eventually, but with a fake identity with which she feigns to never have been in a favorable relationship nonetheless a single mother. Yes, she was right about the part of not having been in a great relationship, but then again she was wrong about not having been advantaged.
Mofe, her love interest, who clearly understands Rose's close resemblance with Mimi, decides to play along with Rose's lies and denials of never having been in a relationship. He's under pressure to find a wife and settle down, and must do so without minding the obvious. He needs to get his mother off his back.
Things take a new twist as a fateful event drags Rose and Mofe down memory lane, forcing them to uncover a truth that eventually changes their lives forever.
