  • Under sufferance Poole attends a charity fund-raiser,whose host, local conservationist and philanthropist Malcolm Powell,is shot dead. His secretary Vicky claims the killer is a man called Jack Roberts but nobody knows who he is and appears to have vanished into thin air. Discovering that Powell fled to the Caribbean from England having defrauded investors in his company and that evidence of a large sum of money was found in Roberts' burnt out car Poole suspects blackmail. But events are complicated by the fact that Roberts died three years earlier. Clearly somebody has used to name to cover their own involvement in the murder and Poole uncovers a conspiracy. The case is solved and the team celebrate young Fidel passing his sergeant's exams when Poole is temporarily called back to London. Is this the end of his career solving deaths in paradise?—don @ minifie-1
  • While attending a garden party hosted by Malcolm Powell, DI Poole and DS Bourday are called into action when a shot is fired. In the living room, they find Powell dead, shot through the heart. His personal assistant Vicky Woodward accuses Jack Roberts, who had arrived earlier, of killing her boss. The people closest to Powell all have alibis including Vicky, who was speaking to Camille in the garden and his son and son who were also accounted for. They find the car Roberts used to flee the scene and money bands indicating he had a lot of cash with him. An investigation reveals that Powell had left the UK after a money scam fell apart and that Roberts was one of the investors who lost money in Powell's scheme. That certainly provides the motive for Roberts wanting Powell dead but there's just one problem: Roberts died three years ago. Poole goes back to square one.—garykmcd
  • Hosting a natural reserve benefit garden party, which Camille dragged Ricard too, local investment businessman Malcolm Powell is fatally shot. According to trusted secretary Vicky Woodward ha had a secretive meting with fellow Englishman Jack Roberts, whom nobody saw, the only trace is his car, found burnt out the beach, apparently he run by boat after stealing the company funds, mostly transferred to the Caymans. Other witnesses, diving school employee Mark Grainger and gardener Duncan Wood, all have alibis. The Powells moved from England after escaping conviction for loosing the savings of many clients, including Roberts, who committed suicide. The wait for Fidel's exam results becomes unbearable, and after solving the case by proving the apparently impossible, Poole is instructed to help the London police in the fraud matters, so the team fear he may stay there.—KGF Vissers
