Against the backdrop of a seemingly posh hockey club, three middle-aged men are fighting desperately against the passing of time and the new zeitgeist. In their urge to score one more time, the three friends make one mistake after another, which almost leads to their downfall.

Hockey club Laurentius (HCL) is the place where everyone comes together, a home for all. It's here where hockey dads JP, Wouter and Kasim can be their true selves and escape the ratrace that is called life. HCL is the place where there is never shortage of beer, where love and friendships blossom, where people are having sex in the dug-out.

When JP and Wouter perform an 'innocent' surprise act at the birthday party of their Moroccan friend Kasim, they are, to their own disbelieve, being depicted as sexists and racists by the "woke" youngsters of the club. This generation gap and the huge controverse that comes out of it, will be the starting point of some big changes in the lives of the three friends. Above all, the turmoil the birthday act created puts a bomb under the existence of HCL when an ugly, masked scandal comes to the surface. Are the three friends able to maneuver HCL safely through this shit storm? And will their relationship with their kids and wives, and with themselves survive?

Hockey Dads is about winning or losing, about fitting in or being left out, about civilization and ostentation. About unacceptable behavior, misogyny, and racism. About old money, new money, or no money at all. But most of all about friendship, love and morality - or the mind-blowing lack of it. About being honest to yourself and daring to say goodbye to the old and safe live that you've always known.

The three hockey-dads JP, Kasim and Wouter, their (ex)wives and kids end up in a downward spiral that hits rock bottom at the big lustrum party of the 'oh so posh' hockey club Laurentius.
