Publicist Hazel has to rehab the image of MLB player Diego, who just so happens to be her former flame!

Hazel Miller is a top publicist in New York City looking to build her empire. Diego Vasquez is a top MLB pitcher who froze during Game 7 of the World Series. He also happens to be the guy who shattered Hazel's heart in high school. When Hazel is tasked with spinning Diego's image, it might be her biggest challenge professionally, and personally, as she takes him back to their hometown in Ohio to deal with what they've both left behind.

New York based publicist Hazel Miller has placed work over a personal life, the reason that most see her succeeding with her new venture of her own company. She is hitting a stumbling block in getting client stories to be printed by journalist Morgan Lucas, who only wants the proverbial "ungettable" stories. She thinks that she has a possible such client and story when she is contacted by manager Mark Gold to be the publicist for one of his clients. She however is going to turn down the offer when she discovers Mark's client is baseball pitcher Diego Vasquez, with rumors being that the Mets are thinking about signing him which would be big news as he has been persona non grata in baseball since the end of last season when he, then the hottest thing on the mound, froze when he was pitching in the ninth inning of the seventh game of the World Series, that incident which he has not talked about since. For Hazel, the reason for not taking him on as a client is that he is her ex, they high school sweethearts, they not having spoken since he broke up with her without warning and without explanation just before their high school prom, neither who ended up attending. Conversely, Diego had no idea the publicist Mark was going to contact to help him get back into the Major Leagues was Hazel. For both their careers, they do decide to work together, Hazel's plan to give the story to Morgan, who will only print such if Diego comes clean about why he froze. While Diego doesn't want to talk about it, Hazel is certain that he will eventually talk about it. As Hazel and Diego spend time together, they fall for each other all over again. Their road to a happily ever after may be jeopardized if Hazel places her business over their relationship with regard to the World Series issue.—Huggo
