Yes!! Shivanna is Boss of Mass. A Gangster Theme is made for shivanna. Overall Experience was awesome. But there were many scenes and concepts influenced from many known Webseries like Money Hiest etc. Director Srini Would have planned much more ideas as there was no Timeline Reference in the overall film. As seen, there's only one song in this film. Would say it's a mass Entertainer. Shivanna's Energy, Fights, Dialogues, Looks are the main attractions of this film. No loss on watching it for once. Would hope more improvements in ideas in next part of this film. Dear Srini plz don't take it easy. We want more work from You.

A super fast paced thriller of its kind

Director MG Srinivas has had a collection of some interesting films in his belt. Although not perfect, his films have shown some promise and always offered something new. He kept the audience guessing from the time of announcement and through the promotions of the movie. The Big Daddy promo and the trailer showed two different shades of the film. Dr Shivarajkumar aka Shivanna hasn't had a great run himself after his successful experimental 'Tagaru' with Sur. With him gaining popularity among the whole South Indian film industry after his cracking appearance in Jailer, the expectations around this have been high.
Ghost seems like a heist thriller from the overall setup in the movie. But as the movie goes on, one can realize it is much more complex than that. The movie however does run very fast and needs complete attention to understand what is happening. The length of the movie is kind of both the positive and negative point for the movie. At times it almost feels like this script could have made a great mini-series on an OTT platform. There is a lot of stuff happening in the movie to comprehend at times and it is told mainly through the interaction of two main characters. While the first half is all about set-up, plan and the tricks by Shivanna and his gang it is during the second half we get to see some scope towards the role build of Shivanna. The movie's action sequences are focused more to be seen as clever moves than the grand. There are certain hype moments for Shivanna fans and some special easter eggs for the ones who would have keenly followed Shivanna's career. Arjun Janya's background score is apt to keep the movie's adrenaline going but slightly misses an USP element to it. Cinematography is excellent at times and at times it is too fast. While I understand the director's intention of non-linear screenplay the editing could have been much better. I also feel that there were much better opportunities to elevate Shivanna's character had the movie been slowed down a little. Looks like both the releases of the week Leo and Ghost ended up needing better elevation moments to their main characters at certain points.
Ghost is definitely a unique experiment for an actor of Shivanna's calibre. He runs the show from the beginning and peaks in the second half especially with the different shades that come along the character. While Jayaram plays the template role of 'chasing cop', his role seems a bit too tiring. The other characters in the movie doesn't really light up the screen any further. It is good to see both Anupam Kher and Jayaram having dubbed for their own roles in Kannada.

Srini fails to deliver in this fan tribute kind of movie. The main draw back is the screen play is not well written or gripping. It is undoubtedly fast paced. The Dalavai flash back is nice and good. But the movie is not worth the watch on a silver screen, the movie is more fit for a small screen. Scattered and Un even screen play. First half is just average, but the ending is messed up. The problem might be with us the audience as we are pampered by too much content on ott post the pandemic Era. It is really difficult to find a satisfying movie. But this movie fails utterly. Three big hyped movies this year all revolved around prison and a jailer. Such a 2023 co incidence. All three movies though very average, was saved by some or the other element.
In this movie, it is the screen presence of Shivarajkumar which saves us from boredom. He has managed to carry the whole movie on his shoulders. It is sad to see no other director could use his screen presence properly after Tagaru. Jailer cameo is undoubtedly very good, but not full fledged movie for shivanna.

An Excellent Action thrillers without any song or dance and also importantly without so much violence. Lots of twist and turns in the story and also an unexpected climax. Shivrajkumar's heroic act is really appreciable. Even without a heroin, he was able to lead the movie on his own manner. Another important thing about this movie is Jayaram's character. I didn't expect that he can do such rude character, as I'm from Kerala, I used to watch his comedy movies. His Character was also really appreciable. Anupem Kher have done his guest appearance in a good manner. Another brilliant thing about the movie was its BGM.

I am giving my rating only for Shivanna's superb and stylish acting. While the story had potential, the screenplay lacked any coherence and the story telling left much to be desired. There are many scenes like tanker burning scene etc, which left me curious when I watched it in trailer. But it left me very disappointed as there was no explanation of it's relevance. The ending leaves with a hope of a next part. I hope Srini takes some lesson and put more effort on making the screenplay logical and not only based on mass dialogue and scenes. The fights are well choreographed. Hiest plan could have been explained well instead of just rushing it in a backdrop.
Yet another overambitious vision by Srini.

Amidst the protest against privatization of prisons, ex-CBI officer Vamana Srinivasan wins the bid for the central prison. On it's inaugural event, a mysterious man with his gang successfully hijacks the prison and keeps the prisoners as hostages along with the jailer and Vamana himself. ACP Chengappa is assigned this case and he tries to figure out the motive behind this hijacking and how to nab the mastermind while the OG, is at times few steps ahead of everyone. What is the reason for the hijacking and who is this mysterious guy, the answers to all the questions is not present in this film for sure.
It's a treat to watch Shivanna shine on screen, completely surrending himself to his Director's vision. However, Srini has the overambitious vision, he doesn't have the writing or directorial skills required to pull it off. Once again the incoherent screenplay plays the spoilsport. The attempt is to give a non-linear narrative with constant jumping back in the timeline but the amateurish writing doesn't help Srini's cause and the disappointing dialogues too bring down the film. Every time Srini strikes gold with Shivanna and proper fan service, the scene jumps back to a dull flashback which barely match the excitement.

Srini comes back with a banger of a movie. Packs in Shivanna on the screen with sheer finesse and also makes sure to sprinkle the massy sections at appropriate time segments. Also the high pace screenplay ensures you have no dull moments in the story and also makes be on the edge of the seat.
The BGM by Arjun Janya ensues exhilaration throughout the movie. Especially the background score during flashback sequence is a cherry on top.
Apart from Shivanna even other characters were able to shine in their roles as well, the Jayaram's Character and Ex-CBI charcter were so nice to watch to name a few.
We have a special messenger in this movie, the conceptualization of that was a cinematic brilliance. Srini also has brilliantly integrated other technical elements aptly into the story.
Overall this movie was a great ride this is a multi-genre fast-paced mass-entertainer which we can enjoy in the theatre.
I am eager to watch further ventures from Srini in future, his direction is refined here compared to his older ones.

This movie is hiest thriller but i hardly could find any hiest or thrill, story is good but screenplay and editing are garbage, i mean director seems confident, but what type of wired editing is this, screen keeps turning whitish and scene cuts after two or five Second thus making us distracted from stroy talking about the cinematography its ok, again editor's fault and dialogues are very bad, now about the music you get fooled by watching trailer, the bgm is too loud it just keeps playing between the movie, and very bad character writing you don't care who lives or dies, taking about direction above average, acting performance of shiv anna is good and supporting actors are ok overall, don't get fooled by trailer and teaser movie is below average and if this continues i don't know how will kannada cinema grow, this is the reason why kanndigas avoid watching kannada movies, nothing new repeating old formula again and again i don't recommend it in theaters.

Each and every bit is unique, kudos to the team and especially director MG Srinivas best heist action thriller. Special mention to the music director Arjun janya sir, we can say music is the soul of the entire movie arjun janya's career best music. Now coming to the OG the man who can creates magic with his eyes, at the age of 61 performing that stunts is not everyones cup of tea. The whole movie is blasted by shivanna. One of the best movies from shivaana. Anand dalavaie best character. The best part of this movie is its duration 2:07 hrs movie passes like a flick. The special mention to the editing team best work. The deaging technique has been worked very well. Last 30 minutes goosebumps every second.

The film hurt itself trying to do all those above but more the issue was of lack of authenticity. There is no genuine story at all. The film tries to chew a lot than its capable to digest. Sprinkled with forced non-linear story structure, convoluted false complexity to make it look serious which it didn't had any strong core or subject or substance but a ton load of fake style, grandiosity . Its a hotchpotch of ideas poorly made and executed.
There was no characterization of lead character or of any other characters played too, no genuine supporting role built or antagonist. You literally have no idea who are all and what they are and why they are there. It's just everyone including main character are all cardboard characters. Extremely superficial convoluted approach towards story writing and editing assuming that will make it click for non-linear caused it fail in all aspects as a film.
There was no empathy or care or concern or emotionally anchoring for any character or to the story. Filled with one exposition after another for fans and terrible film making purely banking on fan service, it's just painful to watch.
Its like the burning tanker in the film for no purpose, no intention and just show piece. May be that's the GHOST?

Once the central prison is hijacked there is a cofusion in screenplay,One couldnt figure out who were the inmates supporting GHOST & who the hell are police men at times of disguise...
Morever the so called trained animal or Morse code factor seems to be cringy...Srini direction lacks the essence & fails to bring uniqueness but does satisfy every ardent fans of hatric hero especially the adoption of De-aging technology elevates his stardom..Jayram does a neat job and his depication & authenticity towards the profession needs to be appreciated(trolled for his dubbing lips dync mismatch)...
Overall a typical masala film meant to entertain shivanna fans only...

Smash hit written all over it ! Sooper acting by shivanna and Jayaram,classy action sequences and nice story..first half a bit dragged, second half is steamy ! Background score by Arjun Janya is racy, lot of whistle worthy scenes in the movie.
A must watch for shivanna fans.
Srini has again proved to be a director with a vision ! His screenplay,usage of rat as a catalyst for carrying messages is innovative and unexplored !
Screentime of 2 hours 10 mins, lack of a full length song is great in this generation of 3 Hour long overly stretched movies !

I'm an immense supporter of Kannada movies, but it's hard to continue this when movies like this are being released. Absolutely abysmal! It's about time KFI takes stock of the situation and stop these ridiculous one-man shows to over glorify these so-called mass actors. This movie is yet another one-man show. The story is below average, ZERO logic, and the production team tries to make it look like some ISRO project, whereas, it's just a cluster of a mess! Gone are the days where we had great Kannada movies with a wonderful story line, something we'd remember for long after the movie, to the point that we would want to watch it again. It's also about time that veteran actors like Shivrajkumar, Sudeep, Darshan etc., stop these one-man shows to only satiate a group of certain people who ordain rowdyism and violence. To the educated and cultured crowd, this is simply unacceptable and far from logic. Maybe that's the only crowd you want, who knows!
Learn a thing or 2 from the Shetty group - Raj, Rishabh, and Rakshit Shetty. They make good movies with a story to remember. 777 Charlie is one among many! Very Good action cum Thriller movie with lots of twists and turns. One can enjoy the movie without any doubts. One should watch the movie carefully to understand the plot, which reveals at the end. Story is quite unique and have what exactly required without any non-sense comedy, dance or romance. Dr. Shivraj kumar has done fantastic job, his acting skills, swag and actions are mind-blowing. Film direction, camera work, color tones of the scenes, visuals, excellent background music. Thanks to Arjun Janya for the BGM, which is soul of the movie. Jayaram, Anupam kher and other acting is also good and upto the mark. I recommend watch this movie in theaters, this is not for TV.

The writing of this movie is as lame as its execution. I feel sorry for the people who have rated this movie highly. It is a wonder to me how a movie such as this gets made. Even simple things like the quality of dubbing is pathetic. The editing seems to be done by someone who is using an editing software for the very first time. But then the writing is a different matter altogether. I wonder if it was written by someone with a brain the size of pea. It seems as though each page of the movie were written by two different people alternating between each other. Basically it is beyond stupid. Lastly the lead. He is the most overrated actor I have ever come across. He is so bad he puts Stevan Segal to shame.

The prison scenes are hard to understand and illogical.
Graphics is also not the great.
The policeman is dumb af.
He speaks Kannada in a weird accent.
Whole movie is built on the star power of Shivrajkumar.
I dont find Shivanna cool and stylish.
Only his core fans will probably be able to ignore everything else and watch this movie.
Had some expectation from director Srini after his good work in Birbal. But Oldmonk and Ghost have been very disapponting.

Ghost- A convoluted complex heist thriller that will blow your mind at the end as the deep rock is carved to see the diamond. The plot is mixed with so many layers (like an onion) in the first half, and one will be thinking what's going on here?, but patience prevails in the second half as it is slowly peeled or revealed with a big bang! Shivanna is classic with his scary looks as "THE OG", and the role is perfected with class and style. The screenplay is as fast as F35 fighter jets, and races ahead with full force. Director Srini is a genius as he waves his magical screenplay with a masterstroke by tying all the knots at the end. BGM is loud and hits right to the moments they want to capture. GHOST indeed is a BOOST to Srini's creativity and a FEAST in the intelligent thriller genre.

Over ambitious and director tries everything but nothing is right here. Pathetic direction and acting. The dialogues are so ordinary and dialogues delivery is so artificial... Tried to copy Kgf and gone bad. People are praising that it's a thriller... Absolutely no thrill and boring. All punchlines are copied from kgf.
If Jeyam ravi doesn't know kannada why is he taken. His acting or dub is so bad that his character is a comedy. The police in the middle of a mission are having a Domino's Pizza and pepsi party in the middle of the night and next scene they are telling India Pakistan cricket match will start!! What the hell is going on??

Technical and De-Aging Process has given a huge positivity for the film & the script has given the proper lead for the upcoming Ghost 2 and Birbal 2.

Editing process was quite a challenging job and the Team has executed the best.

Had a huge expectation for this movie, given it was directed by Srini, and am disappointed. It fails to generate any emotion and story is not relatable. KGF was set in a backdrop, which was believable. India is a strong nation and this type of anarchy would never happen in India at a scale, which is shown in the movie. India doesn't have a gun culture. IAS/IPS officer of India are of a top class. Antagonist does not come across as an Antagonist. Audience are clever and they do not need to be taught. If a screenplay is excellent, people will surely understand and appreciate. Charlie Chaplin was successful without speaking a word in his movies. Kantara, Kavaludaari and Om and Srini's own movies Birbal and Old monk are a great example of a good movie. Take time to write an excellent screenplay. Do not rush.
