Goofs

During the hurricane, Richard and Camille had to slide the wood plank into the holders on the door to secure the building's doors from the inside to keep them from blowing open. Yet when the other officers arrive in the morning, they walk right in through the doors and the wood plank is leaning against the walls next to the door.

When Jennifer describes the professional squabble between her and Lee, she says she got second author, and the professor always goes first on academic papers. This is not the case, the lead (first) is thy or is the junior researcher who does the most work, and the final author is the study lead (i.e. the professor).

When Richard and Camille enter the weather station office they have use a board to hold the doors shut. When Fidel and Dwayne arrive the next morning, they walk right in. Had the board been in place they would have had to bang on the door for someone to take down the board.

The longer shadow in the suspect's photo of the North weather station, compared to DI Poole's photo, supports the conclusion that it was taken earlier in the morning than the timestamp suggests. The shadow's angle however tells the opposite. On the northern hemisphere, a shadow moves clockwise during the day. Between the two photos, it moves counterclockwise.

When Inspector Poole and the Sergeant open the door of the building in which they are trapped by the hurricane overnight, the door always opens outwards and looking at it shows that it cannot open inwards. However, when the other two police officers arrive the next morning, they open the door inwards. Not a goof: The two officers pulled the door open; they did not push it in.

At the beginning of the episode, the dean states that there are five weather stations; one in the center, and four at the "north, south, east, and west points of the island." Later, DI Poole points to a map of the island, indicating the location that the central station is located. However, he didn't point to the center, but the west-central area, and the island appears about twice as long east-to-west as north-to-south. One of the main observations the team made was that it took one hour to get out to each of the peripheral stations from the central station and back. This would be inconsistent, because the eastern-most point on the island is about twice as far as the others.
