- Charlie Bradbury: I also found these series of books by Carver Edlund. Did those books really happen?
- [Sam and Dean exchange looks]
- Charlie Bradbury: Wow. That is some meta-madness. Thanks for saving the world and stuff.
- [to Sam]
- Charlie Bradbury: Sorry you have zero luck with the ladies.
- Sam Winchester: Wha...
- [Turns to Dean]
- Sam Winchester: We need to find every single copy of those books and burn them.
- Charlie Bradbury: They're online now, so good luck with that.
- Sam Winchester: What time did I lay down?
- Dean Winchester: You took a siesta around noon... yesterday.
- [He tosses Sam a beer which sails right passed him as he watches and breaks on the floor]
- Sam Winchester: [Very slow as he looks back at the broken beer bottle and beer all over the floor then back to Dean] I'm sorry. Uh...
- Dean Winchester: That's why we don't have nice things, Sam.
- Dean Winchester: Charlie, why don't you go talk to the witnesses?
- Charlie Bradbury: But I don't want to miss the broment.
- Dean Winchester: Charlie!
- Sam Winchester: [Looking at an email that just came in] It's from Charlie. In the neighborhood, found you guys a case. Found us a case?
- Dean Winchester: In the neighborhood? How the hell she know where we are?
- Sam Winchester: Uhhh... Well, she doesn't. Not exactly at least. It says she tracked our cells to a 20 mile radius then the signal went out.
- [Gives Dean a surprised and impressed look]
- Sam Winchester: Huh. This place must be in some kind of, like, Bermuda Triangle.
- Dean Winchester: What, you're sayin' that we can make or receive phone calls from here and no one can track us?
- [Reverently, looking around him]
- Dean Winchester: Man, I love this place.
- Dean Winchester: [Seeing Sam after just getting up with a serious case of bed head] I'm tellin' you, give me 5 minutes with some clippers, and...
- Sam Winchester: Oh, shut up.
- Dean Winchester: [Worried for Sam] I know you wanna help. I do. Alright? But...
- Sam Winchester: Dean. You cannot take care of the both of us. I *need* to be out here. Play through the pain. Right?
- Dean Winchester: C'mon, man, don't quote me to me!
- Charlie Bradbury: [Sees Dean is pulling away in the Impala] Is he leaving? He's leaving.
- Sam Winchester: It's alright. I stole your car. I think I know where he's going. C'mon.
- Charlie Bradbury: Cool.
- [Realization dawns]
- Charlie Bradbury: Wait, you stole my car?
- Dean Winchester: [to Sam just before drinking a potion that will allow him inside Charlie's dream to save her] Alright, let's do this.
- [He gulps it down]
- Dean Winchester: Ahh! Okay. Alright, I'm gonna need to go to sleep fast, so uh... punch me.
- [Sam gives him a look]
- Dean Winchester: Look, man, I know you don't want to, okay-
- [Sam punches him with a right cross and Dean is knocked sideways, but still upright]
- Dean Winchester: Alright, you're a little off your game there, cuz that was, uh, that was pretty-
- [Sam gets him square on the chin with an upper cut, and Dean is knocked out and falls into a chair]
- Charlie Bradbury: So... the boys said they noticed something on the body's arm before it covered them in years of future therapy. Said it looked like a blue hand print.
- Dean Winchester: [to Sam] Sounds like something you should read about. In a book. At home.
- Sam Winchester: I'm not leaving until we find out whatever's doing this.
- Dean Winchester: Whatever.
- [Turns and walks away]
- Charlie Bradbury: You guys fight like an old married couple.
- Dean Winchester: Listen to me. This poison, it's designed to put your mind into an endless cycle while your insides turn to mush, okay? And its fuel is fear. Now, call me crazy, but I think the only way to break the cycle is to let go of the fear and stop playing the game.
- Charlie Bradbury: You don't know that.
- Dean Winchester: I know that your fear is creating all this. But, you're not afraid of those super soldier vamps out there. And you're not afraid of this game. And you're not afraid of what it did to you. Hey. Look at me.
- [Referring to her mother]
- Dean Winchester: You're afraid of losing her.
- [His tone softens]
- Dean Winchester: Charlie, she's already gone.
- Charlie Bradbury: You don't understand. You don't understand. I was at a sleep over, and I got scared.
- [Fighting tears]
- Charlie Bradbury: So, I called my parents to come and get me. They should never have been driving that night.
- Dean Winchester: It wasn't your fault.
- Charlie Bradbury: I just want to tell her that I'm sorry... and that I love her. And just have her hear it again. I just need her to hear that one more time, but she can't. She, she can't.
- Dean Winchester: I know. Believe me, I know. But, you gotta let it go.
- Sam Winchester: [Dean enters the bunker after the close of the case and heads straight for Sam in the library. At the sober look on Dean's face, Sam stands up to face him] Okay, look, you were right. I shoulda laid low, I, I know. I shoulda hung back. But, I'm glad I was able-
- [He stops short, shocked, as Dean grabs him in a bear hug]
- Sam Winchester: [He and Charlie are waiting and watching Dean break into the morgue. Dean turns and jumps when he sees them already inside] What took you so long?
- Dean Winchester: I stopped for gas.
- [At Sam's raised eyebrows...]
- Dean Winchester: Shut up!
- Dean Winchester: No brothers or sisters?
- Charlie Bradbury: Actually, I have two. Their names are Xbox and PS3.
- Dean Winchester: You wanna call my supervisor, I'm sure he can give you the override or whatever.
- Dr. Jennifer O'Brien: Yeah, I'm sorry. Unless he can give me the form, I can't give you access to the body.
- Charlie Bradbury: But... FBI.
- Charlie Bradbury: Are you gonna invite me into your dungeon, or do I gotta answer your "questions three" first?
- Sam Winchester: Let us introduce you to the Men of Letters.
- [They enter in the bunker. Charlie is in awe]
- Charlie Bradbury: Holy awesome. Too bad they got wiped out, though that is what they get for the sexist name.
- Charlie Bradbury: I came back, to get a blank copy of that form you asked for.
- Dr. Jennifer O'Brien: The FBI doesn't have chain of custody forms?
- Charlie Bradbury: The field office had a power outage. After catching fire.
- Sam Winchester: [Regarding Charlie's monster-filled iPad] I hate that. thing... I want one.
- Charlie Bradbury: [Regarding John Winchester's journal] I hate that thing... and I want one.
- Sam Winchester: I'm fine. Dean, I can still go out there, I can still hunt.
- Dean Winchester: Really?
- [Cut to MoL shooting range]
- Sam Winchester: This is stupid.
- Dean Winchester: [Loads gun, perfectly shoots target twice] Alright. You hit that target, we'll talk about getting you back out there.
- [Passes gun to Sam]
- Sam Winchester: No problem.
- [Takes gun, shakily aims for target, completely misses, hits the back wall]
- Dean Winchester: No disrespect, okay, but there's a big difference between reading about hunting and actually hunting.
- Charlie Bradbury: I'm coming with.
- [Cut to the MoL shooting range again]
- Charlie Bradbury: For serious?
- Dean Winchester: Okay, now, if you can hit that target then we can talk about you actually-
- [Charlie takes gun fires twice, both perfect headshots. Dean is stunned]
- Charlie Bradbury: What?
- Dean Winchester: Djinn usually send you to your, uh, your happy place- uh, no judgement, but, you got a really strange sense of happy, kiddo.
- Dean Winchester: Wanna tell me what happened back there, Boo Radley?
- Charlie Bradbury: I'm sorry, I froze. I couldn't Ctrl-Alt-Delete my way out. Real life roleplaying is hard.
- Charlie Bradbury: Come with me if you want to live!
- [Dean stares at her]
- Charlie Bradbury: I've always wanted to say that.
- Dean Winchester: You're telling me that this whole thing is a videogame?
- Charlie Bradbury: It was called The Red Scare. A first person shooter against super-soldier vampires. I copied it off a game company's server before it was finished, reprogrammed it to reflect my flamingly liberal politics and then I released it. For free.
- Sam Winchester: According to this, she owns two pieces of property in town, one two-bedroom house about ten minutes from here, and... an abandoned shipping warehouse.
- Dean Winchester: Course she does.
- Dr. Jennifer O'Brien: If you know about Djinn, then you and your little friend are hunters, not FBI
- Charlie Bradbury: No, I'm, I'm more hunter-in-training. Totally not worth killing.
- Dr. Jennifer O'Brien: You know what I smell on you?
- Charlie Bradbury: Deodorant? A little pee, maybe?
- Charlie Bradbury: Gonna go by the hospital. Gotta let go, right? What about you, you're gonna let it go?
- Dean Winchester: Never.
- Charlie Bradbury: [Smiles] That's my boys.
- Sam Winchester: You know, you really should come back and dig through our archives. You are definitely a Woman of Letters.
- Charlie Bradbury: I like the sound of that.
- Charlie Bradbury: Breakthrough means snack time to me, and I wanna just stretch my legs. I will pick us up some grub, and unlike you, Sam, I will not forget the pie.
- Djinn Teenager: Mom knew how to cover her tracks. She always told me not to play with my food.
- Sam Winchester: [Stabs him] Yeah, well maybe you should've listened to your mom!
- Charlie Bradbury: Every time I beat the level and save the patients, I get reset back to the beginning, only there's less weapons and the vampires are faster. It's an infinite loop. Like, Pac-Man without level 256.
- Dean Winchester: Level what?
- Charlie Bradbury: Nothing.
