Summaries

  • Alisa Jensen, who recently got married, has swapped her busy Manhattan life for a peaceful existence in rural Connecticut. She begins to hear strange noises in the house, she can't shake the feeling that someone is always watching her.
  • Widowed Chris, his new wife Alisa, and his two offspring, teenage Maya and adolescent Theo, have moved from an apartment in the city to a fixer-upper, isolated, rural farmhouse, the extra space all in Chris and Alisa's plan to have another child, they thus far unsuccessful despite their attempts including she being on hormone therapy. This move does not sit well with the kids, especially Maya in being away from existing friends, but is only exacerbated by she being at a rebellious stage of life and the fact that Alisa is not her or Theo's mother. The situation is even more tense as Alisa is frequently alone with the kids in doing most of the "fixing up" and thus has to act the sole parent while Chris is away traveling for work. Proverbial bumps that Alisa hears in the night and which she initially attributes to an old and strange house slowly shifts in her mentality when inexplicable things start to happen, such as items altered, moved, or missing which no one admits to doing or taking, these occurrences which only place a further wall between her and Maya. But when these occurrences start to become more obvious and not either in her imagination or her being a paranoid woman with raging hormones, Alisa has to convince especially Chris that what is happening is real before it's too late in whoever behind them acting toward a nefarious end goal.—Huggo
