- A father hires a live-in nurse to tend his sick daughter, but as the girl suffers a series of setbacks, he wonders if the nurse might actually be the one keeping her sick.
- After losing her husband and daughter in a car accident involving Amy Martin, Catherine falls into a deep depression and blames Amy for the tragedy. She begins stalking Amy's husband Liam and daughter Corinne, and applies for a job as Corinne's live-in nurse under the name Victoria Jones. Catherine uses a fake identity as a former patient named Eleanor to secure the job and sets her sights on replacing her lost family with Liam and Corinne. She wins them over with her charming personality and she even wears Amy's dresses. She poisons Corinne's tea in an attempt to get closer to Liam, but his co-worker Beverly drinks the poisoned tea and confronts Catherine. Catherine drugs Beverly and tries to drive a wedge between Liam and his mother-in-law by planting a pamphlet about child custody. Liam becomes suspicious of Victoria when he realizes that she is not from the agency that sent the other applicants.—Frank Liesenborgs
- It's Corrine's 11th birthday. Everything seems pretty standard until the birthday girl can't blow out the candles and has trouble breathing.
Corinne is admitted to the hospital and stays there for some time. The doctor talks to her father, Liam, and his mother-in-law, Miriam. to tell them that Corinne has Cystic fibrosis and suffered irreversible lung damage due to an infection. The doctor recommends Corinne avoid social interactions and hire an in-home nurse for the next three months.
Miriam insists on helping take care of her granddaughter, as well as assisting financially. Liam seems reluctant to have her involved. They do not get along ever since his wife recently passed away. (Amy died in a tragic car crash a year ago.)
The search is on for a home nurse. We get a grumpy old one, another nurse who lies on their resume, and my friend, Xavi Casanova, who looks cute here as a disorganized hunk. Allison McAtee shows up as Victoria and nails her interview. (Corinne is a fan because she reminds her of her mother.)
After checking the fake references, Victoria gets the job, but they don't know she stole a family photo and covers up Amy's face. Victori quickly moves into the house and makes herself at home. Victoria adjusts Liam's ties before work, gives friendship advice to Corinne, and makes a mysterious cure-all tea.
Corrine is overly tired, almost drugged, and sleeps a lot throughout the day. Victoria gives Corrine a stuffed bunny to cuddle with while she sniffs Liam's shirts and goes through his things and Amy's old clothes
Miriam catches Victoria looking through Amy's things, and his horrified; Victoria smooths things over by promising to allow Miriam to visit while Liam is away.
Liam isn't super into the idea of a live-in Nurse, but he sure doesn't mind watching her shower with the bathroom door slightly ajar. Later, he asks her to go to dinner with him.
We finally see Victoria's tea recipe, which looks to be infused with a drug to knock Corrine out. Victoria watches TV and eats snacks while photoshopping herself in family photos.
Liam brings a co-worker named Beverly home after a work event. Beverly thinks she recognizes Victoria but gets sidetracked when Corinne falls while going to the bathroom. Starved for attention, Victoria cuts herself with a broken tea mug. While Liam tends to her cuts, Beverly makes some tea and takes the bag of drugged tea leaves with her.
When she gets home, Beverly makes herself some tea. The next day at work, she tells Liam that the tea makes her feel weird. Liam tells her about the date he planned with Victoria, and Beverly reluctantly supports him. (She was Amy's best friend.)
Victoria reads news stories about Am'y accident and cries. She is not doing well! (We see in a flashback that she also lost her family in a tragic car crash.)
The night of the date, Victoria dolls herself up, and Liam is impressed. She also wears Amy's perfume and gets him a clock with a photo of them and Corinne inside of it. Liam it touched by the gift. They have a good dinner and bashful flirting. Just as Victoria is almost caught in a lie, Miriam storms into the house to check on her granddaughter.
Realizing she needs to get rid of Miriam, Victoria plants a custody Attorney's pamphlet in Miriam's purse. It creates a massive rift in their relationship, and Liam tells Mirium that she is no longer welcome in his home.
Beverley sees a doctor because she hasn't been feeling well. The doctor asks why Beverley has been taking Doxadone, and Beverley realizes that Victoria is intentionally keeping Corinne sick.
Liam gets a bad feeling and calls the nursing provider and asks for a background check on Victoria. She overhears the conversation and is personally hurt.
At a follow-up visit, Dr. Cadwell is surprised that Corinne isn't doing better and decides to run some bloodwork.
Beverly continues to doubt Victoria, and her concerns are verified when the nursing agency calls and says that Victoria is not one of their nurses. Victoria's real name is Catherine. She was in the other car that killed Amy. Beverly confronts Veronica and is paralyzed by a syringe to the neck. (Miriam comes over later to Liam's house and is also syringed by Victoria.)
When Liam and Corinne come home, Victoria welcomes them intently. Liam gets a message about Victoria's sketchy resume and calls the reference again. It is Victoria doing a southern accent.
Liam puts everything together at work and then rushes home to save his daughter who can't even run away from Victoria because of her breathing. She ends up getting tied up as bait for Liam. Victoria knocks him out, and when he wakes up, he is tied up too.
Victoria makes a meal for her "family." and blames Amy for everything. She wants them to be her replacement family. Liam goes along with her psychosis to stall long enough for Miriam to wake up and untie herself and Liam. Victoria loses it on Liam and almost strangles him to death, but Miriam stabs the nurse in the back with a butcher knife.
They all get better in the hospital. (thanks to lifetimeuncorked)
