Lady Aberlin : You hurt all of our feelings.
King Friday XIII : Well, uh, what will we do about it?
Lady Aberlin : What will YOU do about it?
King Friday XIII : Well... I know. Handyman, do you have your ukulele handy?
Handyman Negri : Yes, sire.
King Friday XIII : I will need a royal uke fanfare please.
Handyman Negri : Yes, sir.
[plays a fanfare on his ukulele]
King Friday XIII : Very good. I, King Friday XIII, do hereby make a new rule.
Lady Aberlin , Handyman Negri : A new rule?
King Friday XIII : The new rule is that everyone who had hurt feelings will now have good feelings.
Lady Aberlin : You can't order people to have good feelings, Uncle Friday.
King Friday XIII : I just did. Farewell.
[wxits]
Lady Aberlin : Oh, honestly! He is so exhasperating!
Handyman Negri : Yeah.
King Friday XIII : [returns] Uh, incidentally...
Handyman Negri : Yes, sire?
Lady Aberlin : Yes?
King Friday XIII : One more thing.
Lady Aberlin : Yes?
King Friday XIII : I'm sorry. Now, farewell.
[exits]
Lady Aberlin , Handyman Negri : Farewell.
Handyman Negri : Something tells me things are going to be better.
Lady Aberlin : He really said, "I'm sorry." Didn't he?
Handyman Negri : He really did.
Lady Aberlin : Well, that's a good beginning.
-
Mr. Rogers : Did you ever break anything? I mean, did you ever have an accident and break something of yours, or something that belongs to someone else? That can give you a scary feeling, even if you didn't mean to do it.
-
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : I hear Friday said he was sorry.
Lady Aberlin : Yes. It's hard for him to say that.
Lady Aberlin : Yeah. But is he really sorry?
Handyman Negri : I think you'll find that he is.
Lady Elaine Fairchilde : Well, you two know him best. So it looks like the round time's on.

Mr. Rogers : King Friday tried to make a rule saying that everyone's hurt feelings had to turn into good feelings. But nobody can order anybody else how to feel. And when he said, "I'm sorry," well, that was a good beginning. But he has to *show* how kind he can really be. That's what's most important.
