Emotional and Stirring
jwhyb30 April 2023
I saw this at the world premiere last night in Detroit. This movie does an excellent job of relaying the trauma - both the emotional and physical costs - experience by black women and their families who are continuously being targeted and exploited for profit by bad actors and an inhumane system working for the benefit of those bad actors. This movie will certainly be an eye-opener for suburbanites who think they know what is happening, or would prefer to not know. The film is hard to watch, but for the right reasons. It doesn't sensationalize the train wreck which is housing in Detroit, rather takes a hard look at the consequences on individuals just trying to get by. I hope everyone gets a chance to see this film.
