Beautiful film about family and personal identity.

A contemplative, deeply moving story about one man's search for connections across time and space. This film is a thoughtful mix of nostalgia for missing pieces of a life blended with ultimate acceptance of the way it has turned out. It is a visually stunning film, and contains many unforgettable scenes, including some with revelatory music and singing. Elements of mystery, excitement, and suspense keep the viewer guessing and interested throughout. All in all, a first-rate film that explores the inner needs we all share for self knowledge, self mastery, and completeness. The viewer leaves the film feeling both stimulated and satisfied, and hungry for more.

A very unique story of an Indian-born man in his quest to solve the mystery of his birth.

Saw the movie premier of Khoya in Toronto and absolutely loved it. Great directorial work by Sami Khan, who tells a very unique and personal story in Khoya. The movie is about a young Toronto-raised, Indian-born man who is on a quest to solve the mystery of his birth. Rupak Ginn, the lead actor who played Roger gave a captivating performance and carried the entire movie with grace. The director tells the story in a very unique way as he makes use of silence in his actors verses the use of too much dialogue to communicate the story. It's not very often that you see a good independent movie with such a high caliber of talent. I hope we get to see more movies from Sami Khan and Rupak Ginn.
