This is the second film wherein Nicolas Wendl has directed Richard Burgi.
There were camera malfunctions on the set and resulted in over 8 hours lost on the first weekend of shooting, which were all caught up on the second weekend and put the crew back on schedule.
The book that Kent is reading in one of the scenes is called 'Blood Asp', a fictional book that was featured in Nicolas Wendl's previous film "How They Smiled" as one of the books written by Henry Jenkins played by Richard Burgi.
The story was developed in early February of 2012 and the script was written in April of 2012, but over the Summer the screenplay went in a complete different direction only to be changed back to what it was in late September, with final re-writes happening up until the week before principal photography.
The movie has an alternate ending which was decided in the editing room to create a more intense conclusion for the story.
