Ignore the antics; it's about history

Yeah, so the producers obviously figured on creating "characters" by giving these guys some goofy alter-egos and even goofier accents--notice how Bill & Howard's accents aren't half as strong on their earlier Youtube vids? That's no accident; enter the TV producers...how do you make a show about metal detecting sexy?

Anyway, if you can look past all the silliness, there is a surprising level of depth here. Yes, they're both skilled metal detectives, but I saw a lot of solid history. Somebody has done their homework.

I actually like the historical angle more than the detection work--nice, quick summaries with hand-painted (I think) vignettes pointing out the details of some historical event.

Probably not for everyone, but way better than that other show with the group of borderline- criminal greasebags conning witless homeowners into letting them dig holes all over their properties...

Howard OK, Bill? SHUT UP

Not a very good show. Howard is fun and seems goofy. Bill? He should just shut up.

I watch some of their you-tube stuff and the enthusiasm is over the top there as well so I have to think it is for real. The problem is the show is frankly a bit boring.

As I said, the Howard fellow seems genuine and fun and a bit on the goofy side. Bill is just annoying and should either learn to speak of just shut up.

Maybe if the producers didn't try so hard to make it a historical thing with Billy the Kid and Blackbeard and so forth and just let the buys do their stuff. I still think Bill would be unbearable....

Another awful show with two "characters" who get excited at anything happening at all. A coin, screaming, a tube, screaming, dirt, scream. Worst of all, in episode 6 they sexualize the professor they're going to see. She's a scientist and these are two full idiots. I hate this show.

Set Up BS and Corny TV Antics

This show is SO terrible. The stuff they are finding are so obviously set up ahead of time. If the guys who are on this show read this.... STOP SELLING OUT and following the retarded guidance of the show producers and get to real metal detecting and the word reality in reality TV. This show is like watching a car accident. I'd rather chew glass than watch another 5 seconds of this bafoonery!

Great show

Bill has a great voice. The show throws in some history in order to show what the hobby of metal detecting is actually about. The reviewer above can not appreciate that. Me and my kids love the show and look forward to the next episode. Both Bill and Howard do get very excited but that is the way they are as can be seen in their Youtube vids. This show and Diggers put some actual reality in to the metal detecting TV showcase. Unlike the other crazy shows where it is an obvious plant these guys seem to find what I find when I go out. If you are looking for a show that will entertain you while teaching a little history this show is for you. If you want glamor and lies watch American Diggers.

They're laugning is like 2 gitty schoolgirls, very annoying

Only watched Digfellas 10 minutes and those 2's laughing and giggling like 2 gitty schoolgirls just turned me off.

When I seen this show advertize last week I couldn't wait to see it, love MDing. But as I said, after about 10 minutes of every time they found something they would giggle and laugh with those high picthed voices, couldn't handle it. LIke fingernails on a chalk board.

About like Iaconelli on the Bassmasters Pro tour, every fish he catches he OVERACTS, SCREAMS, and pump fist. Can't stand him doing that. These 2 on DIGFELLS aren't that bad, but their HIGH PICTCHED screams I can't stand.
