Goofs

While it's obvious that Swindle is the movies antagonist, it could be argued that he in fact is the victim. The way he obtained the baseball card was underhanded in the extreme but in no way illegal. The kids however commit several crimes, including blackmail and credit card fraud. It's perfectly reasonable to say that the true villains of the movie were in fact Griffin and his gang.

When Swindell and Griffin (disguised as Mr. Lefevre) talk about the Cybertor toy while getting a massage, it's obvious that Griffin is played by a completely different person (not Noah Crawford) for the majority of the scene.

While trying to sell the baseball card to Swindle it should have been perfectly obvious to someone as smart as Griffin that Swindle couldn't be trusted as his initial $10 offer increased to $300 in a matter of seconds. Surely at that point the boys would have realized that Swindle was desperate to get his hands on the card and would have left the store with the card to find out its true valuation.

Darren's character is a bully and is strong enough to move a car sideways to another parking spot, and yet he can't pry a paper bag from Mr. Swindell's hand. Even if Mr. Swindell was strong enough to hold his grip on it, the bag should have ripped and one of them would have been able to get a hold of the bag if the contents didn't simply spill out onto the ground.
