The Best Episode of the Series

Clone Wars has had many great episodes, but this one is above and beyond the best of the show. It is cinematic, mature, well-written, beautifully-animated, and features one of the best lightsaber duels in not only the show, but the entire franchise.

The Lawless is the culmination of several ongoing storylines that go back to the second season of the show. In only 30 minutes, it manages to deliver a satisfying and explosive conclusion that several of the films weren't able to do in over two hours. It melds love, death, drama, action and atmosphere perfectly, making this episode a true testament to the skills of the writers.

It is worth watching for any fan of the show or even any fan of Star Wars in general. Powerful, dark and gripping, it will make any doubter of Clone Wars realize how great the series can be.

Was always intrigued by the relationship that Duchess Satine of Mandalore and Obi-Wan Kenobi had in these episodes. However, this time, the truth is there in this trial which ends sadly, but not only for Obi-Wan...

Darth Maul thinks he has the Power... But the Emperor Darth Sidious had other cards in hand... And questions if Maul is really the leader the Mandalorians want...

However, was very touched by the faith of the courageous Satine, first saved by her beloved knight Kenobi, but avenged too late by then-renegade sister Bo-Katan, leaving a grieving Obi-Wan to continue his Jedi crusade into the "Clone Wars"...

Excellent episode, says the Master...

Just when you think it can't get any better we get this sublime and simply awe inspiring episode!

Death Watch Mandalorians, Maul, Savage Oppress, Obi Wan and then in the most epic and jaw dropping way Darth Sidious himself in full throttle action! Just sensational!

The action itself is immense, the animation is incredible, the characterisations are powerful and the storytelling ideas are enthralling.

This is a must see for Star Wars fans. Electrifying!

My rating: 10/10.

This was absolutely the best episode of the entire Clone Wars series. The scene when Obi Wan controlled his fear and anger through Darth Maul's words and Satine's love, avoiding the dark side like Anakin couldn't do in Revenge of the Sith has told us why he was Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi all over again. She has been killed in front of his eyes, even it couldn't made him angry and he kept playing the game by the book of the Jedi Order.And his statement to the Darth Maul made me think that Darth Maul was just like Darth Vader in some sort. I mean he reluctantly chose the dark side because of the Night Sisters. The moment when Maul felt his "old" master's presence and said "Master!" was very impressive. Most impressive.

Literally the most perfect, emotional and action packed episodes of the clone wars. And damn, that ending lightsaber fight was epic...

It is one of the best episode of the series thus far. An action packed, dark and reminiscent of the old trilogy, which acknowledges the various cliffhangers left by the continuation of the series. This is certainly a beginning to an epic climatic showdown.

The story moves forward with Maul proceeding with his plan for revenge. Satine tries and escape and manages to convey her miserable situation to the Jedi council.

The episode feature few of the best action sequences with a great duel. The best part of the episode is that it is dark and not some cartoon network stuff. It stays close to the original story and the trilogies. It leaves us hungry for more and keeps us gripped till the end. Only flaw is that the voice actors could have done a better job. Their voices lacked power according to the situation.

Direction/Animation: Flawless.

Script/Screenplay: It was less of dialogue oriented but more of action oriented, nevertheless awesome writing.

Music: Good to hear the old John Williams' star wars theme. Superb music.

An awesome installment to an awesome arc, eagerly waiting to see what happens next.

What the hell did I even watch

This episode was epic in the epicest way combining drama emotion and action seamlessly and oh my god action it was scintillating. This is what star wars at its best should be. I don't understand how this episode is only 22 min yet it felt like a movie this is the best clone wars episode upto this point.

Still the best in the series

The revelations, action, drama and legacy of this singular episode and arc remain unparalleled in my mind. Even with the near perfection of the show's true finale now released, The Lawless stands alone as the one episode in the series that truly feels it has surpassed the rest all its own. This episode, and its larger arc, is the show's finest as we see something so totally unprecedented and seeming unstoppable swiftly ended. Leaving everyone wanting more.

Yup, I said it.

This is up and away the ever episode of the entire series (so far, anyway).

The drama was genuinely soul-crushing and heartfelt.

The action was absolutely superb.

The directing and imagery are excellent.

The voice work is very solid.

I kind of figured Satine would meet her end, but man, that scene was still tear-jerking.

I was NOT expecting to see Darth Sidious in action. That entire fight was absolutely phenomenal and probably my favorite on-screen appearance of the character.

I also loved the character development. Like others are saying, Obi-Wan resisting the urge to give in to his anger and grief and try to destroy Satine's killers shows how great of a Jedi master he really is. Darth Maul even got some excellent development here. Seeing him watch his brother get murdered, then weeping and begging for mercy at the hands of Palpatine, was so satisfying.

I love the parallels there. Obi-Wan loses someone close to him and decides not to give in to his feelings and ends up surviving and even manages to get some help in escape.

Maul? He loses someone close to him, gives in to his feelings, tries to overthrow Palptine, and fails. Hard. The Sith, in my opinion, really are destined to always fail.

Side note, I almost cried when it was revealed Bo-Katan is Satine's sister. I can't wait to see more of her.

I have no issues with this episode. This whole season has been mostly good with some bumps in the road, but this seriously more than makes up for it. 10/10 for sure.

The best episode of the series so far, surely very difficult to overcome, it was simply epic .. what any star wars fan wants to see in a series or movie From the script to the superb animations, to the superb music, the score cannot be less than 10. Obi Wan with Satine was very exciting, it talks about how pure Obi Wan is as a Jedi and the light in him. The episode deserves an 11 with the entry of darth sidious on the scene, and that final fight against Maul and Savage ... simply epic, Darth Sidious using two sabers at the same time !!! something more epic ???!

Before the final season this was my favorite episode! An action packed, emotional thrillride that never lets go from beginning to end! The lightsaber duel is EPIC and the best of the series, along with Ahsoka vs Maul!

With so much disapointing Star Wars material out there, i can safely say that it is not the case with this episode and show!

Amazing 10/10.

Screw it this is some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.

This is a special one, in this ep we get to Sidious's moves, oh damn this is what i have been waiting for, Man!! The fight between greatest sith lord and the brothers, is the best one so far... Really looking forward to see more.

What True Star Wars Fan wanted ALL ALONG...

I agree with every review on this episode, I am watching the series with my 15-year-old son, who too is a Star Wars fan (I got him hooked). He tells me, "Dad you are going to like this one?" He was very wrong! I loved this episode, the best EVER. True Star Wars fans WISHED/HOPED/TOILED to see this type of dialogue/action/romance and intrigue in the movies (prequels) to no avail... WOW... Lord Sidious was absolutely superb. "Prepare my ship"! WOW the next 10 mins. FLAWLESS- FOR THE EPISODE- LAWLESS... Did you actually see Palpatine moving like that...? From the books (Darth Plagueis). He was simply great to see. Could we all imagine if this were brought into the Episode III canon? It is truly ashamed like all have said, this makes up for what Revenge of the Sith/Attack of the Clones could not do! Obi-Wan loses his love, she died like a hero. And the musical score- PRICELESS. Two sabers, UNFORGETTABLE. Killing Savage without even looking at him, true Sith Lord... How can an animation do, what movies (6+ hours) could not... Hats off to Director Brian O'Connell... You are gifted... I would hope someone in the Star Wars leadership, would give us... A new series called- The Republic Commandos with this type of directing... I know side note, but had to say it... Only Yoda and Mace have/could handle Palpatine.... Maul and Savage not so much.... One last note, to ponder... Could we all imagine, if in Revenge of the Sith, if Palpatine and Anakin would have fought in the Chancellor's office for a few minutes, this would have been the REASON, Anakin goes to the Dark Side not his wife dying!

Perfection! Stunning! Epic! Everything! Just Wow! Best episode yet! This episode deserved a 9.9/10 on IMDb, not 9.7/10. My favourite scene is Satine's death when Darth Maul killed her which it was so sad! Poor Obi-Wan Kenobi! This is the most saddest part! It hits me the hardest. My other favourite scene is Obi-Wan Kenobi watching the Battle view which it was spectacular. Wow! I absolutely love the dark and sinister lightsaber duel between Darth Maul & Savage Oppress Vs Darth Sidious! This lightsaber duel is one of my favourite and the best battles! The reason why this episode is my favourite is because I love the character of Darth Sidious which gave me the best storytelling! He's my favourite villain. He's inspiring! Hands down to the best episode ever in The Clone Wars! I think this episode is so important.

This is some of the best Star Wars you can enjoy. There's nothing quite like watching the efficiency of the best of the force users. Every movement is efficient perfection.. If you've seen Mace Windu's clone wars appearance in combat; they are simply incredible and insanely efficient and are right up there with Darth Sidious in this episode. So much action, more civil war fighting on the beautiful planet of Mandalore. It's one of the saddest episodes and tugs on your heart strings while showcasing why Dave Filoni and his vision for this type of story telling is just simply incredible. Animation can portray exactly what story you want to tell. I fell in love with Star Wars, again, because of Clone Wars. This episode is everything and then some. The rule of two, Mandalorians, Jedi Masters, the Dark Lord of the Sith, former apprentices, powerful force users. Padawans. Losing loves ones on both sides. Such a 10/10 episode.

Revenge of Dathomir's Son

Obi-Wan's disobeying orders to save the woman he loves, and then the murder of the woman he loves by Darth Maul. Satine's last words to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan's rescue by Bo-Katan and the outbreak of the Mandalore civil war and Chancellor Palpatine' s former apprentice and Savage fighting and beating the two of them. It is incredible and difficult to see so much perfection together.

I just recently started watching The Clone Wars for the first time and I just finished this episode. Wow this episode is amazing and I got hyped when palpatine showed up and fought maul and savage. Best episode of the series by far.
