The first meeting about this film between creators Sherman Hirsh and Les Mahoney was at the Hollywood restaurant, "The Waffle". The waitress who served the two their lunch was actress Hannah Pierce, who eventually got the role of "Shelly Stucks", the barmaid who talks too much. In addition, the final day of shooting was at "The Waffle" so it can be said the movie started and finished there.
Because of DP Michael Blue and Director Justin Baird's limited availability, the movie was shot in only nine days.
While all scenes were outlined in advance, the final dialogue was mostly improvised by the actors, with some essential scripted passages included.
Submitted to one film festival, where it won all the top awards, including the Grand Jury Prize.
Over multiple takes of the Vinnie "beatdown" scene, Les Mahoney (Mike Case) got a bruise on his ribs from Dale Shane (Vinnie) hitting him in the same spot. Les got his revenge when they filmed the scene where he punches Vinnie, giving him a bruise in roughly the same place. Not intentionally, of course : )
