Im not much for these types of shows mainly because they are very scripted not real. But ghost town has caught my attention. They seem genuine in their interactions with the every day type of Joe.. I love antiques of any kind especially with history and a story , Brit and Scott provide all of this .. they have alot of care for people and their belongings very considerate. Also they are very fair with pricing and dealings.. I've seen other shows where the pickers are rude and make people uneasy.. keep up the good work guys , wish I could travel and pick, but like they say you gotta have money to make money lol

Not super original, but still entertaining

Obviously the same premise as American Pickers, but with a focus on western history. These 2 guys are not as smooth on camera as the hosts of AP, but hey, it's their first season. I shudder to imagine how awkward I would be on TV.
By episode 2 it became obvious to me that there was friction between the hosts, maybe that's why there is only one season. Whereas AP hosts are in business together and share the profits, these two guys are in direct competition for items, and basically fighting over the profits. By the last episode they are intentionally sabotaging each other's deals, maybe that's what made it entertaining.
I love American Pickers, but I get tired of seeing them go gaga over toys and ugly cars. It is nice to see a show with a focus on old western memorabilia, since I live in the west and I love old western stuff. I have been to half of the towns they go to in season one, so it resonates with me. I enjoyed the first season, and I wish there was more.
I found it entertaining, which is why I watch TV.

Worth it just for the trip back in time

Hey, I know this is a reality show, but we really enjoyed the road trips through the Western States, seeing all the old goodies, hearing the stories related to the items, even though I 'm sure some of them were not necessarily right on. And some of the folks who lived there were real fun to watch their different personalities and reactions, yes, even though it was staged. But for anyone who enjoys the history of the west, it's just a fun kick back show. And if you're a picker, of course, it's fun to learn about some new items that you've never seen or heard of. Don't look at this as reality, it's entertainment. Then you'll have fun. Adios!
Great show sad only 1 season

Painfully fake

Pretty sure if they stopped by the local gas station to take a leak, they'd find Buffalo Bill's rifle hanging on the bathroom stall wall and a pair of original Levis signed by Billy the Kid under the sink.
Everywhere they go, rare and valuable treasures just pour out. It's almost as though they've been placed there waiting for the pickers to find them.
Because that's exactly how the show has been set up.

American Pickers Rip-Off

In the first five minutes I counted at least ten phrases or sayings that are used in American Pickers. I was excited for this show as I love the wild west and the idea of finding hidden gems of history found rotting in old buildings. However, the hosts of this show are painfully scripted. It's to the point where it just makes you cringe because of how unoriginal the execution of the show really is. Would not recommend, even though the creators of the show had a really awesome idea they squandered it with scripting and straight up ripping off already successful shows.
Fake and staged

Old stuff is cool, but this show is like any other retarded US made "reality" show. All fake and staged. Entering a building to meet someone, and what to you know..there is a camera inside to tape what is staged to seem real. Brand names blurred out even if the item is and old "lost" treasure. Items looking shiny even if it have been stores away for many many years. Shows like this should be illegal to make. I don't know why they are so pop, and these kind of shows are made in all kind of wrappings, but the concept is the same. Fake it or stage it. How hard is it to make a real show? Doesn't people feel insulted? Real life isn't all "wow" ALL the time.
American Pickers it Ain't.
