- Sister Evangelina and Jenny deliver Ruby Roberts' third baby but he is born with spina bifida. The parents are devastated at the news and Ruby, despite putting on a brave face, is having a particularly hard time. Jenny puts in a lot of time with the family hoping she'll come around but it takes a visit to a home for the disabled to set things right. The sisters and nurses receive news of Chummy from Rev. Applebee-Thornton who will be staying with them until his new parish accommodation is ready.
