A source of pride for Louisville, Kentucky has been the revitalization of its downtown, featuring new high-rises, residential and retail centers. But it has also been a busy time for another downtown landmark: the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Jail, which books about 45,000 men and women each year. Many of them have been through the process several times before, like one repeat offender who smuggles contraband into the jail. Also in this hour, an inmate becomes a marked man, after murdering a Louisville rap star, a prescription pill epidemic takes its toll on the jail, and drug use on the inside could keep another inmate from leaving. And jail officials are concerned about one inmate's growing influence.
