Aunt Phatso vs. Jack Donaghy (#7.6)
ComedyFan201022 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Jack somehow makes the blacks laugh when they just hear his name. Turns out he was used as a villain in a Tracy movie. So they have a real battle about it. Liz needs foot surgery but doesn't feel she has enough time for it. Hazel comes as her assistance but she is just using it to get on the show. So Liz wonders if she will be able to both have family and keep the job.

"You killed my feet babies", was a great line! But I a now worried they will make Liz quit to be a housewife!

One of the greatest scenes was Jenna listening to Kenneth and all that was going through her mind.

The lawyer scene was hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
The scene where Jack brings in a German lawyer and a Japanese lawyer was hilarious for sure.

Conductor Alan Gilbert appears as himself in this episode which takes us one step closer to the end of 30 Rock.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.

I groaned
jimmietee21 January 2023
When hazel, who has never had a good moment even when compared to the sorry state that this show has been in for the last 3 seasons, appeared I groaned. I knew it would be childish writing and horrible drama. Not sure how this woman has a recurring role even in a show that is a fraction of what it once was.

Overall the writers are clearly where 30 rock is saving loads of cash. I suspect they have an elementary school contest for "funny" lines. And the idea has to come from the person playing Hazel, who stopped learning about acting or comedy about that time in her life. Not many episodes left. I can make it. As long as this is the last episode with Hazel as a major character.

30 Rock Aunt Phatso vs. Jack Donaghy

Warning: Spoilers
While going into work Jack seems to be funny to a lot of people. He then learns his name is the villain in Tracey's new movie. Hazel still is not allowed on the show and she tells Jenna that some day Kenneth will tell her something she can use to get on the show. Liz comes in late to work and it turns out that she has to get surgery on her feet. Jack tells Liz that she should get an assistant to help her. Jack wants this movie gone including his name. Another movie including Jack will be coming out and Jack does not want it out. Jack tells Hazel Liz needs happy so she wants to be her assistant. Liz hires Hazel for help getting her closer to fame. While out to listen to some classic music Tracey has taken over and replaced it with some modern music. Jack comes to get some advice from Liz but he turns it down and just goes on the same. Jenna cares for Kenneth and wants to help him with Hazel. Jack brings Tracey into his office to say he can sue him for using him in the movie. Tracey tells Jack he sees him do most of these things except for one now he can use against him. Hazel keeps Liz away from the set of the show so she can take it over in the way she wants to. Liz notices that it is a video of her in the past and that she has to get down to the show to stop Hazel. Liz then fires Hazel and Jenna has to say what Kenneth said about Hazel to her. Kenneth then says they are all co-workers and not friends because they do not respect him. Tracey then bests Jack which impresses him. Liz then comes in for some advice whether to go with family or her job. He just makes a joke and does not give her the advice she wanted. Funny episode and every cast member was funny including the least funny ones.

EPISODE GRADE: A- (MVP: Tina Fey)
