Goofs

Before the portal in Leila's room is broke through, the clock time stamp on the VHS camcorder is missing; albeit between one shot and back it reappears.

Throughout the film, the size of the Christmas tree in the living room changes size and shape. In the beginning and during morning/day shots, the tree appears rather large, around 15-20 feet. During the night shots in the living room, the tree is around 4 feet tall and is very much thinner. Then it appears large again during the scene where the demon knocks over the camera in the hallway.

When Mike and Emily are looking through the papers about the previous owners of the house, the bed sheets change position when the scene cuts.

After Ryan retrieves the camcorder that was knocked over by the demon, the tripod is left lying on the floor. However when he goes back out in the hall, the tripod has disappeared.

When Leila is playing the recorder in front of the curtained window at night, she spits up blood, but no blood is shown on the white curtains in the subsequent scenes the same night.

Father states that Leila was born in the 6th month, on the 6th day of the 6th year. She was born on 06/06/2005. Since there is no year zero, Leila was not born in the 6th year of the new century.

Ryan runs into the demon; him and his brother Mike scurry to the kitchen to hide, the whooshing sound continues and resonates - even though the shot clearly cuts.

In the beginning, the location where Dennis and Julie are killed is Moorpark; but in this movie, the title card says that the prologue takes place in Santa Rosa.

(at around 50 secs) At the end of Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), the girls head upstairs with Grandma Lois along with Toby; the camera is left untouched, yet in this movie the camera is picked up and taken upstairs.

Spoken dialogue and a note written on a page both commit the common mistake of calling the Bible book "Revelations" instead of Revelation.
