So, Peaky Blinders. I'm 2 episodes in, and it's really a great show so far. The second episode of Season One is on par, if not better than the first episode.
What's great, is that we get an complete character study of Tommy Shelpy, played brilliantly by Cillian Murphy. In Episode One we saw how clever he thinks and how many steps he thinks ahead from his enemies.
The pacing is straightforward, but not too fast.
We have like 2 or 3 different plot lines and a lot of different character motivations. The plot really has some complexity to it and there is a lot of mystery so that we can surely assume there are going to be some huge plot twists in the future.
As for style and setting; it's all unique. The atmosphere is great and really puts you into 1910/20s in Birmingham. The soundtrack is also really fitting.
I found some of the editing to be a bit clumsy, but that's a nitpick.
Other than that, I want to know how this story continues and it's one of my favorite shows I'm watching right now!
