Summing-up statements in closing credits, while photos are shown:
- Richard McCann still lives in Leeds. He has become a successful motivational speaker, inspiring audiences with his story of overcoming adversity. In 2007, his sister Sonia took her own life.
- Following the damning findings of the Byford Report, George Oldfield retired in 1983. He died in 1985, aged just 61.
- With the help of her solicitor Ruth Bundey, Marcella Claxton appealed against the verdict of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. Six years after her attack, she was finally granted compensation. She received £17,500 but lost her Health and Social Security benefits as a result.
- After retiring as Chief Constable, Ronald Gregory sold his account of the "Yorkshire Ripper Investigation" for serialisation in the Mail on Sunday. For this he received £40,000.
- Doreen Hill sued Ronald Gregory for negligence, believing that failures in the investigation were a direction cause of her daughter's death. The case was referred to the House of Lords who acknowledged failures in the investigation but rejected her case.
- In all, Peter Sutcliffe confessed to 13 murders and seven attacks. But not to the murder of Joan Harrison, whose killer was finally identified in 2011. It is commonly believed that there are other women still to be confirmed as victims of Peter Sutcliffe.
