What Are You Doing To Jason Segel??
slightlymad2212 February 2015
Another weak episode of "How I Met Your Mother". Season eight is so far the worst season of the show so far. Not even a brilliant turn by Neil Patrick Harris (Barney's story is the highlight again) can save this episode.

Plot In A Paragraph: After watching Ted and Victoria together, Marshall and Lily believe Ted is missing all the signs that Victoria is throwing at him to move their relationship to the next level and get married. Meanwhile, Barney has acquired a new real dog of a wing- man, just like himself. Robin believes that Barney's relationship with his new wing-man is Barney's cry for help in dealing with his break-up with Quinn. In Robin's effort to help Barney through his crisis, Nick comes to an understanding of where he fits in Robin's life.

What are the writers doing to work Jason Segel "channelling his inner goddess"?? As Barney Stinson would say...... PLLLEEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!!!! And oh 8 seasons later and Ted is still dealing with "It's Robin or me" ultimatums from girls!! I mentioned the show was going backwards a while ago, and this is poor.

I love the delightful Ashley Williams who plays Victoria, she is my favourite of all Ted's women, but they have killed her character this season!!

The Autumn of Breakups (#8.5)

Warning: Spoilers
Not a great episode. Not How I Met Your Mother standard at all.. I am kind of looking forward to all couples (aside of Lily and Marshall) to finally break up because I have a feeling this is what is making the show a bit boring.

I absolutely didn't get the fun about Marshall's inner goddess. And oh god, do we need to get that nonsense about women over 30 being all desperate for commitment into this show?.

Barney and the dog was fun and yet ridiculous. This is not too bad, as the show often had ridiculous spins. And that dog as a wing man was adorable. I also enjoyed watching barney do his part of being a good wingman bro.

The thing with the Robin ultimatum was a pretty boring idea. I am sure I saw it before on such sitcoms million times. Friends sure had it

This season has lots of bad episodes including that one.

Dreadful

This show used to be good. I used to love Marshal but what have they done to him? Barney's lines are awful. Robin's boring. I've never really liked Ted too much but I can't bear him now. It's such a shame, I've watched old episodes several times and have favourite lines but can't say I'll feel that way about season eight. I've been waiting for it to get better but it's just not happening. I feel like the canned laughter is more prominent too, making it even more irritating. Please excuse my stilted writing but IMDb are insisting I write more than I wanted too when really it could be said with.................. Dreadful!!!!!

sick of this

Sooooo many characters are murdered over and over and over... It seems like they are just making characterless obstacles for cliche and keep destroying repeatedly.

Why cannot potential character function as 'character' like normal shows.

The same plot device
wearyalizay21 October 2021
I was curious going into the episode. Everything was just ehh until they used the same old plot device that's used in so many shows. Girl asking guy to pick between ex/best friend and her. He eventually picks ex/best friend knowing there's no shot with her. It's just tiring to keep seeing it because it becomes so predictable.
