If I could have given this 15 stars, I would

Warning: Spoilers
This episode deserves an award on it's own.

I am amazed by the orchestrated writing, directing and timing of all the stories coming to play together in this episode. The character of God's unique personality portrayed in this series, but also how the personalities collaborate and exchange conversation and takes sides and interact. The writing is marvelous. The acting is great, and the depth of human emotion and desire... and longing emerging in the different relationships portrayed. I am grateful for the treasure that is "the Chosen". I also live the variety and many dimensions of miracles being executed, so personally to each different personality. And how, as a viewer I can actually learn about myself and how I too quickly jump to conclusions, or judge without giving grace to God, another fellow human being, or even myself. I am growing a person just watching this show.

Love the jokes about the name of Joanna, Junia!

The writers and actors really seem to know humanity in it's broadness, by this display of genuine display. This is art at it's highest form, including both visually, sounding directing and editing master craftmanship, yet providing nuggets of healing for the soul, and the spirit as well.

This is God's Word, interpreted and recreated through love, knowledge. Experience, and respect. I see incredible amounts of honor being served in this show, and it is a pleasure. Grateful also to be a part of this by paying it forward, and by seeing my requests being honored. It's like living a dream for years and years of longing for someting sustainable and worthy of His name to be put on. This show shines.

I have not mentioned the music! I love the new and fancy music score! Still enjoying the theme song, I must admit, and love how the music doesn't try to create fear or chaos, but still iimplies the necessary drama, and the nudge to a spiritual dimension by the sound effects. That's how I interpret it anyway.

Well done. Music are equally as important as all the other parts of a show, sometimes it can overpower a show, or a scene, but never in episode! It hints, it points, it doesn't distract, but plays along the storyline beautifully, intelligently, and gracefully. I am honored to get to watch this show for free.

Slow then a build up I appreciated

Warning: Spoilers
This episode starts slow with material that sets the stage for the second half and some future episodes to come. Some reviewers complain that that there is too much side material. I get that.

What I do appreciate is that we get to see what Jesus could have been like in these scenes we know too well from scripture. What would Jesus have been like healing in a crowd? How would he really have responded when challenges by a Pharisee? John's apostles ask the questions right out of scripture and Jesus responds to them. Then they let us see how different people in the crowd receive and respond to His message.

How would Jesus have interacted curing people He knew well? Tears welled up in my eyes seeing his humanity with a real personality and at the same time as God with miraculous healing powers. It's beautiful seeing these two intertwined.

And I can't say enough about Roumie's portrayal of Jesus. He's over the top great.

I have grown in my faith and prayer life with what The Chosen has shared with me. I can better visualize what I read in scripture. Despite what the negative reviewers say, I commend Dallas Jenkins for all he is doing and I look forward to what else he has in store for us.

I am scratching my head about the Pontius Pilate casting. It is unexpected, but I'm open to what Jenkins has planned. He hasn't disappointed me yet.

We're getting back to the plot

Warning: Spoilers
I love "The Chosen". I even went to go see the first two episodes of season 3 in theaters with my family. Those episodes were amazing-especially the scene with Little James. I know I'm not the only one that part touched.

The other episodes in season 3 have dragged for me, apart from the scenes with Gaius and Simon. But THIS EPISODE has got to be the best of season 3 since the opening ones. An excellent, intriguing beginning, and a lot of plot-important character moments. Also some humor that made me chuckle. Really intriguing that Pontius Pilate and his wife have been introduced; excited to see where that goes.

And you know, we sing about Jesus healing the dumb/mute, but I don't think I've ever actually *seen* it portrayed.

All in all, well done!

Intense scenes , like in previous episode, answers ( Jesus to John emissaires , Jesus to Bartholomew and Shula and the sufferance of people, answer , radical, almost brutal, profound painful of Eden to her husband, after two episodes of ambiguity and sharp tense ).

The only problem, for me, is the option for Pilate of Pontus and his wife. I saw Claudia Procula, always, as a matrona. Sarah J. Bartholomew proposes an androgyous, not very comfortable for me and Andrew James Allen seems offer a nasty, spoiled boy for Pilate. But, off course, we are see the evolution. They are just too, too...young , too ...modern , obvious, from other show. But, sure, I am just subjective and it was only their first appearence so, patience.

In same measure, the story about troubles in Decapolis suggest the responsability of Apostles, like the confrontation of Simon Yelot with his ex fellows.

In short, an episode of answers..

Why??

Warning: Spoilers
What is going on with this show? Enough with the Peter marriage issues. Enough with these side stories that amount to nothing. Last weeks episode was strong and I'd hoped going back to where it began. Now, the latest episode is complete trash.

The writing has dove terribly this season. What is going on. I can understand certain stories about the apostles and family but enough is enough. Is anyone actually interested is the olive grove storyline? And who age they? I strongly feel this is a fools errand at this point. And again I say Dallas Jenkins is to blame.

This latest episode continues to drag its feet over and over again. What's the point of what is going on?

John the baptizer's question
l-perez-dancer24 February 2024
I've been an avid Bible student since I was 21 years old. Prior to that I lived my life without caring what my Creator thought about my choices. My Bible study has only increased in the over the 40 years since I first started reading the Gospel accounts.

I know the Bible very well and am thoroughly enjoying The Chosen series. Naturally, since I am so familiar with the Bible account, I have some opinions about this series. I believe it is important to point out that less than 10% of each episode of The Chosen is actually from the Bible accounts. Ninety percent of these episodes are embellishments; the producer's ideas of how the Bible characters may have spoken, looked and acted, beyond what is written in the Bible. I have no problem with those embellishments. As a matter of fact, I appreciate and enjoy much of the non-biblical inventions by the writers of this series.

I would like to speak about the good and the not so good embellishments created by the writers of this series. I hope you will not be offended by my critique.

Season 3, Episode 6 John the baptizer's question. Many characters and accounts in this series are not from the Bible. Barnaby and Shula are not in the Bible, but the invention of these characters adds dimension to the series and at times provides excellent comic relief. The scene with Jesus answering John the baptizer's question is found in the Bible but Simon Peter's wife is not spoken of beyond the mention of him being married. The story line about the miscarriage is one that was not necessary in my opinion. Also, the casting of a 20 year old actor to play Pontius Pilate is quite odd. He really needs to be a rough, seasoned Roman dictator. Not one of the stronger episodes.

Biblical content in this episode; 5%. Matthew 11:1-30.
