As a live broadcast, there are a number of minor stumbles throughout. Des signs off the first part of the show by telling viewers that Roger De Courcey and Kit and The Widow will be on the show after the break - but ends up saying "Roger Kit", before correcting himself.
Later Roger De Courcey does a routine with Nookie Bear saying he has an IQ of 11, which is "10 more than the fella who introduced you as Roger Whittaker... or Roger Whitter". Des laughs and shakes Nookie's "paw".

Roger De Courcey's lips can be very obviously seen moving throughout his ventriloquist act with Nookie Bear. However, this isn't specific to this particular edition, but a recurring feature of De Courcey's act.
The fact that Lulu is lip synching instead of singing live is made very clear when she hasn't got her microphone to her lips when she begins to "sing" Amazing Grace, and hurriedly raises it to her mouth, with no difference in sound.
As a live show, Des openly admits that he begins the third part of the show amongst the audience to fill for time as Cannon and Ball have arrived late from the Palladium.
Des openly acknowledges that he's receiving signals to play for time before the midnight chimes, and is forced to ask the audience repeatedly if they're having a good time to pad things out.
The opening to Cannon and Ball's appearance is particularly chaotic, with Bobby Ball claiming to have forgotten a poem he was due to recite - a situation probably brought about by the fact that his microphone wasn't working for the start of his appearance, throwing off his concentration.
Des's decision to frequently walk to the front row of the audience shows a lot of technical crew and equipment not normally visible on the series - just before the end credits, a crew member can be seen showing Des a sign with "30 secs" written on it.
