Factual errors

When Lt. Kemp first appears, his U. S. Air Force uniform is all wrong for an officer. His hat insignia and his collar brass are those worn by enlisted personnel, not officers. He has his Lieutenant rank insignia on his epaulets about halfway up to his collar instead of about 3/4" up from the shoulder seam like they should be. Because of these glaring uniform errors, my first impression was that his character was intended to be an impostor trying to poorly impersonate an Air Force officer. Later on the Nellis AFB, he is in his utility uniform and again his rank insignia is all wrong, his lieutenant bars on his collar should have been parallel with the ends of his collar, instead they were at a 45 degree angle to the ends of his collar. The wardrobe department should have at least clicked a couple computer keys to see what an Air Force officer's uniform should look like.

Anachronisms

Stewardess tells Dixon that her flight to "Dallas Fort Worth" leaves at 11:15. DFW Airport opened for commercial traffic in 1974, several years in the future.
