Since I wrote, directed and acted in this, I may have a bias. I will say that I am incredibly proud of this film, and that I couldn't be happier with the performances my actors turned in, and the locations we managed to find, and the marvelous editing and music; none of these things were in my control, and I am dazzled by how good they are. I've seen this film at least 25 times, and moments of it still give me chills, and I still laugh in the same places. "The Quirk and the Dead" is a short, comedic look at the zombie apocalypse. It's also kind of a love story, though a twisted one. It has some (I hope) surprising elements, one of which is hardly any gore. I prefer the old-school scare, where the audience is left to imagine the horrors that happen off-screen. It was a lot of work, and it took forever to get it made, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
