New Mexico, 1878. A young man is visiting a whorehouse for the first time and tries to act cool in front of a prostitute. That young man is Billy the Kid but his journey is just beginning.
With a wounded leg, Billy learns more about The Regulators, a gang of outlaws. Richard Brewer, their leader, tries to fight back against a corrupt lawyer who stole land in Lincoln City.
A newly appointed member of The Regulators, Billy tries to learn how to handle a gun thanks to Richard, his new mentor. Meanwhile, Alexander McSween prepares his next move.
On the run, The Regulators hide in the woods near Lincoln City. A chance for Billy to learn more about Charlie, the self-appointed doctor and poet of the crew.
An old acquaintance of Billy shows up in Lincoln City to bring him back home. In order to do so, he needs to make a dangerous deal with Alexander McSween.
The day after the attack, The Regulators heal their wounds and find a new leader in Billy. Pat Garrett wishes him good luck and gives him some precious advice.
