Storyline
Plot Summary |
Once, in Korea, Slate Shannon made an enemy for himself by not sacrificing fifteen good men to save one scumbag and a Sergeant following an ambush. Now, years later, this scum shows up in Trinidad and does some wild ambushing of his own: snakes in lovely women's beds; bullet holes where somebody was about to sit down. He and Slate have a horror of a suspenseful pursuit on the docks at night in which Slate shoots the scum and ends the vendetta. He then takes Sailor home. |

Slate Shannon: Wait a minute. Sailor Duval: Hmm? Slate Shannon: Let me look at you. Sailor Duval: Yes? Slate Shannon: You know what? Sailor Duval: You like it. Slate Shannon: Well, I wouldn't get as wildly emotional as that, but I must say I've had a lovely day. There's much be said for picnics on the Caribbean. Sailor Duval: I made an impression, huh? Slate Shannon: Well, you offer something to a fella, sweetie... Sailor Duval: Yes? Slate Shannon: ...like the way you pack a lunch basket... Sailor Duval: Slate... Slate Shannon: ...the way you keep the sandwiches coming... Sailor Duval: Slate, forget about food, huh? There's just you and me and I've got that Lost-in-the-Tropics-Oh-So-Defenseless-Feeling-Blues.
